My husband and I have just got back from a FABULOUS trip round Ireland...and our second last night was spent at Harveys Point. It was REALLY unforgettable...from Ann, at Reception, to our amazing room, the food, the ambiance, the staff .....Sarah, Joanne, Shane at the bar, everything....the decor!!!! Too gorgeous....and to sit a have a drink overlooking the lake,......beautiful view....very relaxing, in real style, with a very much 'feel at home' feeling. A DEFINATE ..."we will be back".......

We stayed for 2 nights in September. Our first impressions were good. The lakeside setting is magnificent. Staff were friendly and our room was in the original building with a small view out towards the lake. These rooms are somewhat dark but very comfortable. The aspect of the rooms could be improved by a pruning or removal of some of the trees that obstruct the light. On our first night we attended the cabaret. It was most professional and entertaining and the food was tasty. However the starter and dessert were buffet style - tasty but it did not look too good by the time we were sent to the buffet counter. On our second night we dined in the restaurant and this was a bit disappointing. My wife had monkfish that had to be returned as it was overcooked and slightly burned. I had a vegetable risotto and that I found to be lacking in flavour. The desserts were very good. Overall it was a nice experience staying here.

Went to Harvey's Point Cabaret night and also availed of one extra night. This hotel is set in a fabulous scenic location overlooking Lough Eske. It was my partner’s birthday so I wanted to do something special, he is a country music fan so Harvey's Point offered the preferred option. On arrival we checked into our room which was outstanding, we then choose to have our meal in the beautiful restaurant overlooking the lake, the food was of the highest standard, and our waiter was most attentive and pleasant. We were however very disappointed with the poor standard of housekeeping in this hotel. As soon as we arrived in our room we felt the need to call reception because the bathroom/toilet had not been left clean, this was very off-putting and disappointing. We accepted the apology and the promise that they would have the bathroom redone as soon as we came down for dinner..which they did (but really this should not happen in a hotel of this standard). The following day we had put a request on our door not to service the room while we went for breakfast but the room was serviced regardless, however the dirty dishes had not been removed and no milk had been left so we could not make a cup of tea/coffee. This was the same again the following day...very poor. It's such a pity that these small things which can be so easily avoided should tarnish the overall experience because apart from these housekeeping issues, I can honestly say that this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. I hope that some checks will be put in place before our next visit.

We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary with a Deluxe Double at this Hotel. OMG, the room was massive with really beautiful furniture. It really has the wow factor, no expense has been spared and a lot of thought has gone into designing such an amazing suite. The bathroom was stunning with lots of really good complimentary toiletries. The one thing that really impressed us was that the mini bar price list was exactly the same as the Bar and the full size fridge was well stocked. The food was delicious and we enjoyed breakfast at the window table overlooking Loch Eske. A great trip and hope to go back next year.

We are just back from our third visit to harveys point and enjoyed it so much again! From the moment we arrived we felt completely relaxed and chilled out. The food in the restaurant was exceptional and so was the service-even though they were extremely busy. We had a few drinks in the bar afterwards where we enjoyed the entertainment. Thanks for a lovely break!

We booked this place on reputation from others. The hotel had 2 weddings on, but it was not that apparent. Our room was on the 3rd floor and I can trully say that the room was excellent. Large bathroom with jacuzzi. A sitting area with comfortable seats and small table where we sat looking out (through a near roof to floor window) over the lake while eating breakfast. I have stayed in nice hotels all over, but the attention to detail here was exceptional. From the room size, to small bookshelf with reading material, fresh milk in the fridge for your tea/coffee along with cookies. Explaination about the natural colour of the local water, bottled water also supplied if you were that concerned. We had no noise from adjoing rooms. We ate in the bar with good food at a reasonable price, though the gourmet evening meal was very tempting, maybe next time. The staff were all very friendly/professional. Would definitly recommend for relaxing/romantic break. Location might not suit everyone as it is about 5k from Donegal town, (hence 4 stars), which could be a plus or minus point. Situated overllooking a lake and with surrounding hills nearby gives opportunity for exploring.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband in a standard coutyyard room which was lake-facing and so had a lovely view. The room was a good size, and spotlessly clean and everything was well thought out - especially loved having cafetiere coffee in the room! We ate in the bar one evening, food was lovely, only gripe was it took a long while on a quiet-ish Tuesday night - 45 mins for main course from when we ordered. Extensive drinks list too. Lovely peat fires throughout the hotel and great 'reading' room which was perfect for relaxing with a book.

Loved the walks around the area - we were lucky enough to get decent enough weather to take advantage of these! Great staff too, very friendly and always willing to help.

Now for the downside - both mornings the shower kept running cold on me, to the extent I had to jump out of it! Not what I expected from a top-rated hotel. Plus the outdated dial to turn the shower on was stiff and took about 10 rotations before fully on; not ideal if you had any hand/wrist problems and in this day and age a simple on/off button really should replace this. Walls were also quite thin and substantial noise from the next room could be heard - tv, walking round, coughing and sneezing!

Overall though we really did like this hotel, mainly for the picturesque setting and great attention to detail. Would love to return some day!

Thank you for your kind feedback about our location, staff and the overall impression of Harvey’s Point. In relation to your comments about the Courtyard, I accept your points and may I extend our most sincere apologies. The Courtyard is our oldest building and while full of charm and character, we are aware that the signs of age are approaching. Our annual maintenance plan will endeavour to address the issues you raised. However, we are proud to present our most recently built rooms which have a wonderful blend of space, luxury and style. Full details are on our website.
