Ok going to Donegal in December probably not the best move with the short evening and rain rain rain! Anyway hotel can be a little difficult to find esp. in dark as its in the middle of nowhere so try going in daylight if possible but location is lovely and peaceful because of this. Lovely views of Lough Eske. We upgraded at cost to a suite and it the best room I ever stayed in - wow! So if you can spare the extra cash then get a suite with fresh milk and biscuits every day for Tea! King Bed was very comfortable and spacious with large flat screen TV. Bathroom had large tub that was great for a long soak. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The dinning and bar areas were very comfortable and tastily decorated. The main two problems I had were there was no bar menu. There was a bar area to sit but only a la carte menu to order from which worked out expensive when all we wanted was a quick bite. The food was ok but should have been better for the price. We ate in a lovely pub the second night "Olde Castle Bar & Red Hugh’s Restaurant" in Donegal town and it was delicious and very good value. Second was that there was no leisure centre or proper spa, which we were very, disappointed about for a 4 star hotel. There were 2 treatment rooms for facials etc that we used and we had no problems. The breakfast each day was without fault - we enjoyed it very much and there was a brilliant selection. Overall I would recommend but again nit sure about the restaurant so only giving this hotel a 4.

Room Tip: suite all the way!!!

Dear Ms Flyon, Thank you for taking the time to share your comments in relation to your experience at Harvey’s Point in December. We appreciate your valuable feedback and please be assured that we have taken your comments on board in terms of our alternative dining offering. Menus are currently being created for Season 2012 and they will reflect quality but affordable options for both fine dining and light bites. While it is not a requirement to have a swimming pool at four star classification, of course it would be a desirable addition to our product and we accept your point. Thank you for your overall recommendation and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again sometime. Kind regards from the Gysling Family and the Harvey’s Point team.

From start to finish our trip was amazing, the service we received and the hotel itself was top class. We were so relaxed and comfortable for the whole weekend, we felt like celebrities living the life of luxury. Every meal was delicious. Views from our room and the restaurant are spectacular. It was so warm and cozy, can't wait to return!

Room Tip: A view of the lake makes it!

Me and my wife stayed at Harveys Point for 2 nights in feburary 2011. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. As for the hotel we have stayed in many lovely hotels throughout the world and this is without a doubt the best so far. The room was beautiful very spacious and had everything in it you could ask for and a lovely box of chocolates for you on arrival and as for the bed it is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on it was that good I took the name of the matress and ordered one as soon as I came home. The buffet style breakfast was again fantastic and a wide range for all tastes and the food was kept very hot, there was even a chef to cook you pancakes and omletes. This hotel should have a 5 star rating as I have stayed in 5 star hotel that are not a patch on Harveys Point

We spent the Saturday night before St Valentine's Day in Harveys Point and really enjoyed our stay. The Hotel was very busy but coped well with the crowds, I was delighted that there was no public TV where the Rugby could be watched but some people were disappointed. The women got a red rose at dinner and mine is still thriving 10 days later. We had booked dinner at 9.30pm to accomodate the match and didn't get our main courses until 11pm and staff were not unreasonably beginning to run out of steam, I think a little more efficiency at getting the food out could have been possible. Over all a lovely visit

This was my first trip to Harvey's Point and it was breathtakingly beautiful even in February. While we were there we had sun, wind and hail stones but it just got more beautiful with the snow on the Bluestack Mountain tops.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful and really cared about making your stay a memorable experience.
One small niggle was there was no hair conditioner. They had everything else from shampoo, soap, shower gel, shower caps etc., etc., but no conditioner.
Currently there is no gym or pool but an indoor pool is under construction.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view room. We had an enormous Delux room with jacuzzi bath. We are going back in May...

Dear Sandez, It was our pleasure to welcome you for your first visit to Harvey’s Point and we are delighted that you enjoyed your ‘romantic indulgence’. We certainly will take your comments on board in relation to the hair conditioner and of course we all look forward to our pool being completed but to be honest, this project is on hold for the short term. The Courtyard is cosy and opens out onto the lake shore although it is of a different size and standard to our Executive, Deluxe, Premium and Penthouse Suites. On behalf of the Gysling Family & the Harvey’s Point Team, thank you for your kind review and we look forward to welcoming you back again. Regards, Deirdre
