Owner description: Situated on the Murvagh peninsula in Donegal Bay, this links course is isolated from the outside world by a forest of evergreens on one side, and the distant Bluestack Mountains on the other.

Murvagh is not the most dramatic links course- in a recent golf trip with friends, it ranked behind Carne and Enniscrone with my group. But the second time playing it over the last ten years, I enjoyed it even more the second time. It is a very friendly club in a beautiful location. It would be an easy course to belong to and enjoy playing season after season. Conditioning is always good and Donegal has some of the best greens around. Best of all, it is part of the group of North & West Coast Links that generally provides the best golfing values in all of Ireland.

It's a long course with medium width fairways and deep hay-like rough in the summer. Stay on the fairways and the greens are always good. Brilliant views of beach, inlets and mountains. The course is playable all-year round. It'll take two mighty shots to make the first green and three good ones! The course continues to be equally demanding from there on. The food and hospitality are always good in a clubhouse that is ideally situated to give a more than adequate view of the course.

Picturesque but typical treeless course; hard to find your golf balls and was very windy. Difficult course but loved it!
