“The sharks made it!”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

We had a great day at Malin Head after visiting Doagh Famine Village. We were graced with good weather and had a chance to walk around the area and enjoy the breathtaking views. For those with a serious caffeine addiction, you'll be pleased to hear there is a very impressive, and modern, mobile coffee bar at the top carpark, which also sells delicious bakes - NOT what I expected to find at the northernmost point of Ireland! The highlight of our visit was seeing basking sharks very close ot the rocks where we were standing - GREAT excitement all round!

“Our day at Malin Head”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Wow! This is beautiful! We stopped at Five Fingers Strand and my husband (brave soul that he is) ignored the cold to say he had swam in the Atlantic ocean! The sun was shining and it was beautiful. Later at Malin Head the rain had come on but suitably warmed by a coffee from a truck on the top of the hill and Naomi, another super friendly Irish girl we had a super day at the most Northerly point in Ireland!

“Wide views”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

You get there after a rainy day and suddenly the rain and clouds lift - slightly. You can see forever to the north, east and west but the headlands to your immediate west are still shrouded in cloud.

However, you can get a delicious espresso from the van nearby!

“Area of outstanding natural & rugged beauty”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

Absolutely peaceful, tranquil and beautiful. Well-worth the drive, though the drive is scenic and enjoyable too. We were joined by a local who was dolphin / whale watching who relayed some very interesting local anecdotes.......which made the whole experience more enjoyable. Highly recommend.......though do the bathroom visit before you come.

“On Banba's crown”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

The rain started to fall as we topped out on Banba's Crown - good thing Ireland's most northerly coofee van was in full swing - and everybody started chatting as we enjoyed the best coffee in Inishowen. But in spite of the brief shower, the clouds stayed away and we were able to see out to Inishtrahull, where family legend has it that might grand-aunt died at 25 and is buried. And wonderful views westwards across the Donegal heads: Dunaff, Fanad & Horn head in the far distance.
