This is a beautiful forest park, well worth a visit. There is a small cafe and toilet facilities beside the carpark which is a couple of kms inside the park. Nearby there is a children's playground and picnic area. In the carpark you'll find a map of the park which gives details of the different walks you can choose. We did the nature trail, unfortunately there were no details available of what the numbers on the logs related to but its fun for the kids to look out for them all the same! Then we took the trail down to the beach which was just lovely. The sandy beach and shallow waters are so clean, perfect for a paddle if you're as lucky as us to get there on a sunny day. Exit fee for cars is 4euro, free for cyclists and walkers. Recommend for everyone.

Fantastic forest park. The beaches are incredible there are walks of varying degrees of difficulty to suit everyone.

Play park beside the car park for kids. There is also a tiny cafe but didn't seem to be open when we were there (May).

A special place - if you've never been - go!

One thing - you need 4 euros (in coins) to pay the barrier machine on your way out - you have been warned!!

Lots to do at Ards. The walks are varied both in length and scenery. The play park is great for the kids and the wee cafe is superb! Highly recommended.

The whole family went to Ards in Donegal and had a great day out walking in the dark forest with its well signed paths and out onto the shoreline with the timber deck walkway along the top of the Dunes. Back to the clever playground and coffee before heading home.

This is a great place for a walk or explore.

Just be sure you have 4 Euros in coins to pay on your way out!

Well worth the 4 euros - a small wooden adventure playground, small cafe, and some beautiful walks. We had the place practically to ourselves.
