We were in donegal for the weekend and this pub was recommended to us... have to say it lived up to the recommendation... we ordered 2 chowders and hot prawn starter both amazing. Our older two children loved the chowder and even tried the prawns. Myself and husband ordered trio of fish and monkfish.., both excellent.. the children had cod goujons cooked in homemade batter fantastic, the other child had chicken curry she said it was really good, baby bowl for the youngest made with their homemade vegetable soup and potatoes. Excellent restaurant... would recommend this...

We were told the food was very good at this pub so we went for lunch. Two of us had scampi, deep fried as so much Irish food is. We found that after peeling off the coating the scampi was pleasant. It was accompanied by chips and a fairly small salad.
It was also very dark and not warm, on a cold and wet day.

We had the best meal of our holiday here, played it safe and had the steak and it was so well cooked, it's a simple meal but very easy to get wrong which they definitely did not.
So child friendly that while my husband and myself were juggling our twins the owner cut up our eldests dinner up for her! He also told us where dolphins had been sighted so we could take our daughter.
I've only given a four for atmosphere as we were there on a quite night and for a large part of our time we were the only dinners. Would definitely go back if we stay in the area again.

We visited Donegal in September, 2012. Ate at Mary Murrins twice. The food and the service were incredible! My husband is currently attending culinary arts school so we are very picky about food and service. I still dream about the food at Mary Murrins. Can't wait to go back there on our next visit to Donegal.
