Description: Market Lane is an award winning restaurant and bar over two floors that offers great food, amazing value and friendly service always. Where possible we use ingredients from The English Market and local artisan producers to make up our menu which has a wide range of fish, salads, meat, game and sandwiches, in addition to coeliac and vegetarian dishes and a healthy kids menu. We brew our own beer next door, have a coffee blend exclusive to us and use herbs from our greenhouse. Take a virtual tour or make a booking on our website.

We had a great meal, quickly seated, excellent food, wonderful staff, awesome evening, the duck was a great start , then the Hake and the chicken mains, followed by bananas and strawberry desserts . Also have great local craft stout. You should try it out

After a weary day of shopping my wife and I decided we needed a pick me up about 6 pm last Saturday. We decided to try one of our old favorites "Market Lane" wondering if it would be as good as we remembered from a few years ago. It surpassed our expectations from the minute we entered and were welcomed by the hostess who asked us if we would mind sitting at the bar for about five minutes while our table was being prepared. At the bar we were immediately presented with menus but then allowed settle before the one of the bar people returned to ask us if we would like something to drink. Then in about ten minutes our hostess returned to bring us to our table. No problem for her to identify us in a crowded bar and restaurant! The people serving the tables were very capable, helpful and friendly. We both selected the same dishes: prawns in sweet chilli for starter and pan fried hake for main. Both exceeded our expectations.
Also I remember at this stage that there was a great atmosphere around the place. For our desert we decided for old time sake to share a Nickerbocker Glory, but were disappointed. I'm afraid the glory of their Nickerbockers has faded over the years. But the meal was great. The Spanish Rueda wine was perfect with the hake. The coffee was excellent. We will certainly have Market Lane high on our list for our evening meal the next time we eat in Cork city.

We had a group of 8 at the Market Lane Restaurant in Cork. We each ordered something different and at the end of the meal there were 8 empty plates. Everyone loved their meal and ate up every crumb. The service was excellent, casual but professional. The atmosphere is upscale but not stuffy. This restaurant is a great addition to the Cork culinary experience. Highly recommended.

Dinner at Market Lane was a welcome surprise for us...after an overnight flight and all day "sightseeing" around Cork, we were very happy to come across this beautiful little restaurant. The menu was very unusual, lots to choose from...and each item was prepared and presented wonderfully! This was a "highlight" for our short stay in Cork!
