Just wanted to reach out and thank you for setting up our tour.

Tony was fun and interesting to have with us for 2 days! We saw much more scenery with him than we ever would have on our own! The folklore, history and stories all were great.

Please pass along our gratitude to him.

We had a great day with Craig @ Munsterbus Tours and we saw Cork, Kinsale & the Jameson Distillery. Munsterbus let us customize our itinerary. We were not interested in being in a large crowd at Blarney Castle. We had 6 people and were able to see so many things that we would never have seen on a big tour. Craig drove us around the city of Cork, we visited a local sweet shop/candy company and saw the owner hand making candy, we went to beautiful St. Fin Barre's Cathedral and saw all the highlights in Cork. Before we enjoyed a lovely lunch and shopping in Kinsale, Craig took us to Charles Fort and a small memorial garden honoring the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11. We enjoyed staying ahead of the big ship tours. Craig had secured a lunch reservation for us in Kinsale so we didn't have to fight the crowds. Craig answered all of our questions and gave us personal insight into the area. His pride in his home country was evident and the scenery was amazing, exactly what we imagined Ireland to be. One note about the Jameson Distillery tour – it was an interesting tour but we thought we would see a working distillery and instead toured their old factory and did not actually see any actual whiskey production.

Our family of 4 ( myself and my husband and 2 college aged kids) just returned from our 7 day tour of Ireland. Thanks to American Airlines, we missed the first planned day of the trip, however, Tony made sure that we made the most of the 6 remaining days. Tony was a great tour director!! He fit right in with our family, often joining in with all the kidding. He took us to sights we would have never found on our own, avoiding the crowds and never missing a turn! He made great recommendations for meals and pubs on our own at night. He was always prompt, had great stories and so much knowledge of Ireland and was a safe driver throughout! Our Mercedes van was quite comfortable for the group.

Linda was incredibly responsive with helping us arrange the trip. She was super quick to respond to any questions and made the booking process easy. The hotels/inns she set up were all great. She even put together all the documentation we needed for our trip insurance without us asking.

We all had a fabulous time! I would highly recommend Munsterbus for any travelers. In fact, I did recommend them and had family members take a tour with Tony before we actually took ours. They also raved about their trip!

Thanks Linda and Tony! We hope to meet again!

We are a family of 7, with age ranging from 7 to 72. We spent 7 days touring Ireland and our family had a great time. Tony was great in adjusting to our needs and was flexible in terms of the sites and time spent in each location. The mini bus was very comfortable and new , enough space for us especially during long drives. We were able to see all the key sights in southern and Northern Ireland in comfort , and all the hotels that Munsterbus booked us in were strategically located in the city center, convenient and are 4-5 stars . In terms of itinerary and tour preparation , Linda made sure our itineraries were clear and understandable , and all the arrangements were made to ensure a smooth travel . Our family had a pleasant and memorable stay in Ireland .. thanks for helping create those wonderful memories Munsterbus !

Not enough stars for Tony Murphy and Munster Bus!

After reading the wonderful comments of the Dec. 3 review, we knew it had come time to describe our own amazingly fun and educational travel experience with Tony and Munsterbus--circling around the lower two thirds of Ireland in early September, 2018, in their very comfortable, roomy Mercedes mini bus.
After lining up our hotels several months before with our long-time travel agent at home, we decided we would rather have a driver than try to go it alone. Our agent had worked with Munsterbus before and thought they would be a good fit for us. He was right on about that! Even though we did not work directly with the Munsterbus office in the early planning stages, we came to realize that much of their pre-planning and professional organization of our super week-long trip was accomplished there. Our basic itinerary ended up including breath-taking Cliffs of Moher, the amazing barren cliffs along the Wild Atlantic Way, Picturesque Adare, scenic Killarney National Park, Sheen Falls, Kenmare, Healy Pass, Glengarriff, Kinsale, Mt. Juliet and a family farm near Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny, Clonmacnoise, Cong, Ashford Castle and a Scenic Drive around the Connemara Coast and, including Clifden and Sky Road.
There are not enough stars to describe the entire trip, especially with Tony as our driver! He was an incredible guide as well, with vast knowledge of all of Ireland. He was also quite hilarious and easy to get along with. We had 4 adults, my husband and myself, and our 2 adult daughters. My family likes to joke around and Tony, with his great sense of humor, fit right in. My husband walks with a cane and Tony was extremely accommodating to his needs. He navigated with humor, taking us to places we never would have found, or known about without him. When we went over Healy Pass at his suggestion, it was as if he had a remote control and the sheep were choreographed for our visit. The entire herd of sheep came walking towards us single file where he had chosen a very picturesque point of view. Oh, and speaking of sheep, he had very enlightening information on how sheep herders keep track of their flock.
Tony was punctual, patient, funny, smart, a tall leprechaun, full of funny facts... a true Irish historian and storyteller. My husband always has many questions about the economy, especially when it involves all aspects of agriculture. With Tony, he felt he always got a straight answer and was VERY impressed with the extent of his knowledge.
As others have mentioned, he stopped at “secret” viewpoints to avoid the crowds, had great suggestions about where to eat, whether it be a cozy pub, restaurant or a deli to grab a sandwich. Our itinerary was very flexible, and we enjoyed doing many things we would have missed otherwise, like climbing all the way to the top of the “Round Tower” at the Church of Ireland (Canice) Cathedral in Kilkenny or climbing along the desolate yet heart stopping barren cliffs North of the Cliffs of Mohr on the Wild Atlantic Way. Best of all we never got lost! He even found the farm that belonged to the family of our dear, recently deceased priest friend with only an “Eircode” to go by. Thanks to Tony and our friend staying there, we were able to go to the churchyard where Fr. Tom was buried and pay our respects. Although bittersweet, we spent the afternoon visiting their picturesque farm with beautiful livestock and friendly horses. Being able to visit with his entire family left us with very special memories, not to mention the best lamb stew ever!
Needless to say, Ireland would not be the same for us without Tony and Munsterbus!
So, until we meet again, hopefully soon, Cheers and Happy Trails!
