Description: The wagamama story our story began in 1992, when we opened our first restaurant in bloomsbury, london. We wanted wagamama to offer the kind of fresh, fast food and relaxed atmosphere you get in japanese noodle bars. We've gradually grown into a much-loved family of restaurants that spans 17 countries our dublin's city centre restaurant opened it's doors in 1998, being the first wagamama franchise in the world. After several years we decided to spread our wings down south to cork city in 2005 and further again in 2010 to up north to belfast and back down to dublin's blanchardstown. Finally in july 2011 our fifth wagamama opened in dundrum shopping centre

“Food good but pricey”

Good food as you would expect from this chain. But seemed unusually highly priced compared to other branches in the Uk. Admittedly Irish prices all high compared to the UK but hey a noodles a noodle

“Wouldn't be running back”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

I have eaten here a couple of times but found the food tasteless and nothing worthy of a return visit. May try again based on other diner's reviews but so far nothing even resembling authentic Japanese food on my visits.

“Good food”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

I had eaten at Wagamama restaurants in some other places and I always love their food. It's always a safe choice if you're up for some nice asian food. I'm especially a great fan of their rice dishes. They have some really interesting desserts on the menu as well (like wasabi chocolate cake), but I must confess I have never tried one since the main dishes are so enourmous that I am always too full to eat something else. They have great juices too, and some interesting asian beers.

In this particular Wagamama restaurant, the food was again great, but in the beginning I was a bit annoyed by the service. It took a while before we were even noticed when we came in, which was annoying because at Wagamama you have to wait to be seated. When we were ready to order, it was really hard to connect to the staff. I understand that it can be busy sometimes, but saying something like you'll help someone as quickly as possible is in my opinion always better than simply avoiding eye contact. On the other hand, when we could finally order, the waiter compensated this by offering us tap water without having to ask for it ourselves. I thought this was really friendly, as some restaurants can be a real pain about this.

“Great for lunch!”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

If you like noodles and that kinda stuff, then this is a great place to be. If You have been to Wagamama in other cities, then you definitely won't be disappointed with the one in Cork. It lives up to its standards.
