We booked this BnB after doing a lot of Tripadvisor research. We read that it would meet everything we wanted, close to town, good clean rooms, great breakfast and nice knowledgeable hosts. but wait....it exceeded all boxes we wanted ticked. Olive and Ciaran are great hosts, friendly, knowledgeable and Olives breakfast is very good. Cant rate this highly enough for a BnB in Cork. The rooms are clean, bathrooms decent size and no real noise from the street to keep you awake. Remember to pull up as close as you can to the BnB as the hill leading up can be steep and Ciaran has parking supplied for you just around the corner

We were very satisfied with our recent stay at Auburn House. The place was very clean and the breakfast was excellent. Both Olive and Kieran were very friendly, knowledgable and helpful with direction and advise in making our stay in Cork enjoyable.

When we arrived, the owners sat us down (but not in a bossy way), gave us a drink (orange juice/coffee) and told us everything we might need to know about cork. They told us about all the offers that were on, local festivals, etc., about Blarney House, etc.

They also bent over backwards to help us. I damaged one of the rooms in an extremely minor, accidental way, and the owner couldn't have been nicer. He told us not to worry about it, and said that he'd fix it whilst we were out, which he did. Their kindness was one of the reasons I set up my tripadvisor account, as I wanted to publicly acknowledge their good service and hard work.

One caveat: When we asked about live music, the owner recommended the Windsor Inn, Cork, which is just at the bottom of the street beside the B&B. DO NOT GO THERE! It is awful, and full of obnoxious men. But that is no reflection on this place as a B&B, and so long as you don't actually enter that pub, you won't even know it is there. Everywhere else that he recommended was a gem. I personally recommend the Crane Lane Theatre for some of the best ales, beers and atmosphere you could experience anywhere in the world.

This place is incredible value, and you'll sleep like a baby.

We stayed in 2007 and are looking to make another trip in 2013. This place was absolutely fantastic. When we come back we will definitely look to book here again. We have recommended Auburn House to friends and family travelling to County Cork as we were very comfortable there. The walk up to the B & B is a little steep but very good excercise. There was a great choice for breakfast suitable to small breakfast eaters and large alike. The city for us was wonderful too.
Our only disappointment was that we did not find much by way of traditional Irish music sessions in the Pubs. Maybe we will be lucky next time.
Thank you Kieren and Olive.
Ps I cannot put a time as we travelled in 2007Therefore have put in Dec.2011

Room Tip: Any room is fine.

First of all, (as title title says) Olive the co-owner can't do enough for you. Herself and Kieran run the best B+B in Cork city! Nice cup of tea/coffee on arrival. All the rooms are comfortable - we've been twice and had a choice on both occasions.
Breakfast has everything (most normal people) could resonably want and it's really good. Secure parking at the Church is another plus. The place is ideally located. Only steps from the city centre without being in the middle of it. Looking forward to my next visit.

We stayed here for one night on the 27/9/12. Really good value for money B & B. Our hosts were really nice, they took the time to talk and give us tips. Breakfast was great also. Parking is at church behind the B & B with a lockable gate. There isn't much appealing in the city itself but the surrounding area including Blarney castle is fantastic.

Kieran was really helpful when he sat down with us to recommend restaurants and sites. I thought it was a nice touch to give us an overview of Cork over cups of coffee and tea. We didn't have any issues with the room as we slept fine. The breakfast was huge! The Irish breakfast came with a fried egg, 2 sausages, bacon, tomato and toast. That kept me full for a long time. Oh back to Kieran - another thing we liked was how he asked what else we were doing the following day. He gave us a really helpful tip that saved us a lot of driving time and gave us a more scenic drive up the coast to the Cliffs of Moher.

In terms of parking, do yourself a favor and bring the car to the B&B first. Don't look for parking yourself. They have access to a gated parking lot but you have to go to the B&B first to get directions on the free parking.
