We could not have been more pleased with our 3 night stay. Tony and Avril epitomize Irish hospitality. They just seem to thrive on providing more to you than you could expect..."Would you like to use my GPS today?"..."Let me call the manufacturer of that sweater and see what shops they sell to"..."You don't need to worry about finding a Laudry, I can take care of that for you and have your clean and folded clothes in your room later this afternoon". More than we could have hoped for.....
Of course we also had a lovely, clean room and wonderful breakfast every day. Thanks. A+

We stayed for just 1 night, and we were thrilled to have found such a perfect B&B experience. I can't express how eager Tony was to provide sightseeing and dinner recommendations. And they were so friendly, we were sad to leave. The room was clean and comfortable. And breakfast was delicious!
Within walking distance to Cork city center yet situated on a quiet street, we were really satisfied with the location.

My parents and I just returned from our 10 day visit to Ireland. We stayed mainly at B&B's. Fernroyd House was our first. We stayed 2 nights (in the annex) and had a fantastic experience. We compared every B&B to this one afterwards and we all agreed it was the best. Avril and Tony are amazing hosts. They were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast fantastic (esp the homemade scones!) and the location is perfect (down the street from the college, a couple blocks from the main city center). We enjoyed having a glass of wine in the quaint backyard, relaxing in the garden setting. It was definitely a great start to our vacation and we hope to some day return.

Tony and Avril are excellent hosts with a vast knowledge of Cork including it's many restaurants and bars. We stayed in their 2nd house 23-26 Aug, a real home from home with use of a kitchen/lounge and garden. The rooms were very clean and comfortable providing a relaxing base about 15 minutes walk into the centre of Cork. Breakfast was taken in the main house with a variety of options to suit all tastes and as mentioned in other reviews the scones were delicious. If you're looking for a small and friendly B&B this is definitely the place.

We recently stayed in two rooms at the annex house and enjoyed it because we felt as if we had the whole home to ourselves. The garden in the back is beautiful and perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Avril and Tony couldn't have been better hosts, and the homemade scones were yummy! The B&B is a two minute walk to the UCC campus. Be sure to take a walk through campus. It's also an easy walk to downtown Cork and the pubs (the young adults in our group loved this!). Check your directions before you come -- there are some brand new "flyovers" that bypass some roundabouts that threw off our GPS.

We just loved this B&B!The house was so cozy and Tony and Avril are just the perfect hosts, always ready to help us with anything! Our room was big and spacious with a view on their garden. Breakfast was excellent with warm scones and jam, sweet french toasts and of course the classic Irish breakfast. The B&B is a 15-20 minutes walk from the city centre. I definitely raccomand Fenroyd House! We felt really at home!

Tony and Avril, THANK YOU!

We are sorry our review is so late (we stayed back on April 30th)...but we are here now to rave about your lovely B&B.

We had a lovely, well-appointed and new room in the second house at Fernroyd. There was a beautiful garden out back and the room was clean and fresh. Tony and Avril greeted us on arrival with their little dog (can't remember his name-but he was so cute!)

You are a short walk into downtown Cork in a quiet neighbourhood near the college there. It was maybe 15 mins at the most and the weather was great so we quite enjoyed the walk.

Tony has fantastic knowledge of the city and mapped everything out for us. The only issue we had: not enough time to see everything! We were only here for one night.

We must also commend and brag about Avril's breakfast. Scrumptious! The scones are the absolute best and with the homemade jam. We were spoiled!

This B&B is top-notch from the service to the rooms and location. Thanks again.
