The food in The Spinning Wheel at Griffins is always fantastic and is sourced locally. The staff are very friendly and efficient. On a nice day I would recommend that you sit outside and listen to the sound of the river go by as you have your tea/lunch. The restaurant inside is nice and airy also. When you finish your meal you can browse in the garden centre and maybe pick up something for your own garden. Alternatively you might find something nice for yourself or a present for a friend in the shop. I visit frequently and am never disappointed.

This is a lovely relaxing place to visit, the garden centre is not the only attraction here, the restaurant is more of a country style café with delicious food both for light lunches and homemade treats. They have a great selection of both the sweet and savoury variety and many types of teas available. You can sit and look out at the riverside or their greatly stocked garden centre and if you have time, can browse in the shop which has a beautiful array of gifts or items for the home and garden although some things might be a bit pricey!
"Fiver Friday" is a good way to save money as special dishes are €5.00
I like to visit this place often with many of my friends for all of the reasons listed.

My friend and I visited The Spinning Wheel Restaurant today April 3rd 2014 for lunch. Firstly the vast array of foods offered was excellent. All the specials were clearly displayed on the way into the restaurant and there was something there to suit everyones taste in my opinion. From delicious hot foods, quiche, fish etc to salads and sandwiches we were spoiled for choice as to what to select. My friend had the quiche which was accompanied by a mixed green salad and chips. They offered coleslaw also but she doesn't like coleslaw. I opted for the BLT and I have to say it was the nicest I have ever tasted. it was served in a brown bap and the bacon was gorgeous. it was accompanied by a mixed leaf salad and some delicious huge spicy wedges. The portion sizes were decent and we enjoyed a cappuchino and a pot of tea also and I had a glass of orange juice. We were too full to have dessert but they had a huge array of them on offer including a rather yummy looking pavalova. The restaurant is bright and airy and overlooks the gardens outside. At €23.95 I felt it was good value as normally two main courses of a roast dinner would cost at least this. We will definitely be back and if you are going make sure you give yourself plenty of time to look around their gorgeous gift shop and garden centre. Top class for taste

Just back from a visit to this wonderful restaurant and garden centre. There is oodles of choice in all home cooked fresh meals in the busy Spinning Wheel Restaurant, great to see reasonable prices too as it makes us customers coming back time and time again. The staff are very friendly and very busy. Afterwards you can stroll about the garden centre which is always full of wonderful plants, a little play area has been made of late for the little ones, so all are catered for. Back into the shop where gifts can be purchased.
