“Only ok”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2013

Coffee and sandwich quite enjoyable but the dessert of chocolate fudge cake was inedible. It was hard and stale and was clearly a bought in cake with synthetic chocolate. For a tea rooms, one expects fresh home made cakes. I will not be returning.

“Great place to relax and have coffee.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

Great place to chat over a cuppa. We were informed on arrival that they were out of paninis even though supermarket across theroad. Thought this was strange. Had the warm chicken salad also. Very disappointing. Whole chicken breast on bed of dry lettuce leaves with a rasher plonked on top. Had carrot cake which had gone hard from sitting uncovered at the till area. Didn't like the idea of cakes on display where customers were paying their bill. Staff were very pleasant. Will return but will stick to the coffee and scone or bowl of soup.

“Pretty tablecloths and china tea-cups”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2013

This little tea-room is a lovely change from all the shopping centre coffee shops in Douglas. Each table has an oil cloth printed with pastel flowers, spots or stripes. The walls are lined with bookshelves filled with cookbooks. The staff are friendly and there is a good menu on offer with lots of cakes and scones. I went with friends for breakfast and had scrambled egg on toast. Others had a mini Irish breakfast and soup and sandwiches. The food was reasonably priced although we felt the sandwiches were too small as they were made with small slices of bread. The warm chicken and bacon salad was disappointing as there was a whole chicken breast plonked on a bowl of leaves and was not what my friend was expecting when she ordered. Everyone in Douglas is talking about this place at the moment and it is very popular and busy.
