Description: Real Italian food at La Dolce VitaAuthor: Louise CashellCork recently welcomed a brand new Italian restaurant, La Dolce Vita, located on Proby's Quay. Although the business is only in its starting stages, La Dolce Vita, is quickly gathering a reputation for its 'real Italian food'.Some of this noteworthy food includes the pizzas, which are cooked on a brick oven, the only one of its kind in Cork. At La Dolce Vita, only the best and freshest ingredients are used and all pasta is made on site at the restaurant. The restaurant can cater for large bookings and would be an ideal venue for office Christmas parties. The romantic and friendly atmosphere only adds to the rustic, Italian vibe of La Dolce Vita who offer a variety of excellent Sicilian wines to accompany the wonderful dishes that are prepared by Sicilian chef Paolo Perrone.

An enjoyable meal with a nice ambience, but the prices were a bit excessive. Good host and service.

“Best pizza in town!”

Love the place, pizza is definitely the best in Cork, the closest you can have to a proper Italian pizza. Will def be back.

“Great Italian food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2012

We stopped in here with for dinner on a Sunday evening. Our first visit here since its previous life as the Brick Oven which we liked.

Proper Italian staff which is always a good sign.
I ordered the bruschetta for starter which was really good. 2 large chunks of fresh warm bread with plenty of fresh chopped tomatos and herbs.

Both mains were pasta dishes and tasted really good.
House wine was good also.

Price was reasonable for early bird.

Would recommend this restaurant to locals and anyone visiting Cork. We will be back for sure.

“Super restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 3, 2012

Recommended by hotel staff member and what a find! Not in the main restaurant area (guess they try harder? Still only 5 min walk from centre) Great atmosphere (live music Saturday evening) and, most importantly, wonderful food.
Olives/focaccia served complimentary.
Steak and seafood impeccable (didn't try pizza/pasta so cannot comment): beautifully cooked and served.

One tip: as a starter go for the (seafood) salad as opposed to the cocktail: only 1 euro (?) more but infinitely more interesting! Also the fillet steak as opposed to the mushroom sauce steak: fillet is a great hunk of wonderful meat whereas the other seemed rather flat and unexciting.
On the wine list: can recommend the Montepulciano!

“Have consistantly had a good meal here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2012 via mobile

I live quite nearby so it's handy at short notice. And priced well enough for a last minute type "I can't be bothered cooking" outing.

Have had several good meals here. Reccomended.
