“Almost a vintage room but outdated is a better word.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

Stayed here for 3 days. Spacious rooms but outdated. Room was very warm due the sun on the roof and windows. Sleeping with open windows was challenging due the noise of the kitchen below. Only very late in evening it was quite till early morning. No cooling possible in the room. Interesting pipes in the room with funny noises. Bathroom need a good clean up and updating to the standards of today. We were sleeping close to the exit and lift. The doors where making sometimes more noises then we liked. But the staff was very helpful and friendly. The waterfall is a nice feature. Nice bar and restaurant.
The rooms needs a makeover to keep it up for 2014 and beyond. Although previous reviews I didn't notice any refurbishment of the rooms. For us it will be a once off.
Prices are like everywhere in Ireland overrated.

Room Tip: well, if you want to be close at the station and city center this is a good place to stay.

Entrance was lovely, room was large and clean. Powerful shower with plenty of warm water and the beds were extremely comfortable. Would recommend. The only thing that was a minus was the speed of the breakfast as it was quite slow over half an hour for some sausages, bacon and beans but overall very good.

Four of us stayed here for one night. The entry way is spectacular with a waterfall and a small area to sit and have a meal or drink. The location is convenient for the center of town but the neighborhood is somewhat rundown. Our room was large and equipped with the worst looking chair seen in any hotel. The bath was brand new and clean. WiFi in the lobby is free and works well but you have to pay for WiFi in the rooms. Breakfast is great.

We stayed 1 night here. Room 201 was very big and clean. Bathroom very nice especially the shower. Old hotel but nicely renovated. Staff very good. Walking distance from train station and bus terminal. You can take bus to Blarney Castle.....20 min. ride and cheap. Nice bar and restaurant in hotel. Tried bar but not restaurant.

The greatest part of this hotel is its entrance! It is breathtakingly stunning. With greenery and a beautiful waterfall, how do you not want to sit outside all night and have a drink? The hotel is set up that the electric only turns on when you are in the room and your key is placed in the outlet, which means your room is stuffy when you enter. Our room was surprisingly large, with a very tiny bathroom, but clean. The location was just across the river from the action, but next to a great breakfast place, Tara's Tea Room.

Stayed three nights with my fiance and we really enjoyed our visit. It is a great location, being a short stroll from the city centre, as well as the bus and train stations. The building is lovely; with the waterfall in the courtyard being a wonderful feature.

The staff were friendly, but always seemed to be in a rush at mealtimes and it would have been nice if they could have been a bit more attentive. We had dinner at Green's Restaurant and the food was excellent. We did not use the bar.

The room was clean and comfortable. As there are some late night venues and takeaways nearby there was some noise on the street at closing time but it was not enough to keep us awake for long. If this would be something that would bother you, ask for a room away from MacCurtain St.

Room Tip: Book ahead for dinner at the restaurant as it gets busy in the evenings. For a great example of clas...

Located within walking distance of the train station and of the city center, this was a good choice. The entrance is absolutely charming, with a natural waterfall and rock feature. The front desk was particularly helpful, especially Maria who was both informative and a comforting presence to weary travelers. Breakfast was tasty and copious. Room 108 was noisy until very late at night because of the restaurant below (rubbish dumping was loud and so was the staff). Rooms could be better lit - just two small bedside lamps and fluorescent ceiling lights, but overall it was fine. Convenient, friendly, safe.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your recent stay at Isaacs Hotel & Apartments. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us.

It is always nice to hear such feedback regarding our personnel and I can assure you that your kind comments will be passed on to all concerned.

I am sorry to hear about the unnecessary noise at night. We actually share our service area with another business and I assure you that together, we will endeavour to minimise such unnecessary disturbance.

With regard to our rooms we are actually redecorating and refurbishing a number of our rooms at present with a view to determining a particular style that we can replicate throughout the hotel over a period. This project will involve a review of the current lighting which we acknowledge is in need of change.

I do hope that this matter did not detract too much from your stay and that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back to Isaacs Hotel & Apartments in the not too distant future.

Sincerely,

Brian Harrington
