Having met two of Cork's city's tourism ambassadors, we were offered and in depth and insightful guided tour by them, which included access to some of Cork's historical sites which are not easily accessible such as Elizabeth Fort and Christchurch. The tour took over two hours and was designed around our interests and needs by these two knowledgeable ambassadors Seán and Ciarán. The tour was both informative and fun, with references to both the historical and cultural aspects of the city as well as informed recommendations for restaurants and local pub music sessions to suit all.

Nice large shop, loads of leaflets but service was not with a smile from the solitary woman behind the counter who was clearly annoyed at being disturbed on Saturday lunchtime

We were looking for a bureau to change, she advised us that there was no where in Cork on a Saturday to change currency and that we have to go to the airpiort to change money

How wrong was she!

A trek to the post office where a very kind man directed us to a western union internet cafe that not only changes currency but is open very late

Considering she is supposed to be their to assist the tourists her knowledge was very poor,

We arrived in Cork City on an Aircoach bus. We had a place to stay but our trip was completely up in the air because we had decided against renting a car. We visited the Tourist Office and spoke with a wonderful man named Anthony. He helped us get our trip all planned, booked our next lodgings and we saw everything that we wanted to see and even more because of Anthony's help and knowledge. Thank you so much for this help. Every Tourist Information Center that we visited was great, but Anthony really went beyond what we expected. Thank you, Anthony.
