Owner description: University College Cork is one of Ireland’s most prestigious universities. It boasts a vibrant, modern campus with a student experience second to none in Ireland. A learning community where the student is at the heart of everything and the special relationship between student and lecturer is primary to our unique ethos. The campus is located a mere ten minutes walk from the heart of Cork city, a former European Capital of Culture. Cork is listed as a top ten location in the Lonely Planet guide which states it “has always had an unshakeable self-confidence and innate sense of pride”, a description which is equally applicable to the University itself

Just walked around this campus and took in the scenery. Very pretty buildings and grounds. Worth a stroll...

This university is a vibrant place. smiling and laughing students seem to throng the college grounds giving the college an energetic and pleasant atmosphere. The older college buildings and the church add authenticity to the university and the Ogham Stone corridor is a must see

UCC had an amazing setting, lots of green surrounding the buildings that express history, culture and scholarly enlightment. Exploring the campus and the buildings with its thich stone walls and heavy wooden doors is a real experience specially to those coming from the new continent. There is plenty of reference and explanation about floor tiles, walls, chambers, where just any visitor is able to access and check out. I was invited to one of the cafes at a teacher's lounge, surrounded by impressive furniture and books. Also there are lots of contemplative spots around campus.

I live in Cork now and I absolutely love going to UCC. I don't study there, but I really like the atmosphere, the scenery, etc.
It's not so close to the city centre, but you can easily walk there!

I'm reviewing the FUAIM concert series which the UCC Music Depatment organises. This is a weekly event, Friday lunchtimes, which can take place in one of a number of different venues both on and off campus. I attend these reguarly and have to say, with the possible exception of the Hugh Lane Gallery Dublin 'Sundays at Noon' series, FUAIM has the most remarkably varied and high-quality selection of artists, encompassing folk, world, jazz, classical and contemporary music, the last including the most abstract and experimental as well as more conventional approaches. The concerts are always free and always very well-attended, and are almost always highly enjoyable.
