This was the highlight of our trip to Cork! It was about 8 Euros to get in. As soon as you turn up and go through the gates, you get that erery feeling of the history. If you can, I would strongly recommend waiting for the next guided tour. Takes about 30 mins but you get the full story or real life prisoners - very interesting (I'm 27 and my friend is 25 and we were not bored at all)! We then went back round after on our own to take pictures and look at things close up. We were here for about 2 to 3 hours in total and well worth the money!

Well worth the walk and the entrance fee and they do guided or non guided tours. Most informative and well laid out and despite the grisly nature of the place and it's history it's well maintained clean and our children really enjoyed the experience. Its not as large as Kilmainham goal but certainly worth a visit.

Interesting experience to see what prison life was like years ago. We also visited the Radio museum whilst at the Gaol. Not so impressed with that however, give it a miss if you go there.

An interesting and informative day out. A little steep at 8 Euro per person but it's well restored and the way they've used actual characters to help you understand the conditions at the time is very good.

Such an experience! Well preserved location and tours are offered throughout the day. Despite all of the history involved...it is quite a lovely spot! Not to be missed!
