My husband, two young children, and I stayed in the Ambassador for one night en route to a wedding in west Cork. We arrived after midnight but were greeted with a warm welcome from the receptionist, who brought us to our room. We were a little unsure about the hotel when we booked it (as it was cheaper than most other Cork hotels), but we were very impressed. While the room was not luxurious, it was very comfortable, with high ceilings and a two huge windows, one of which led to the huge balcony. The room was huge--even with a double bed, a single bed, and a baby cot, we still had lots of room. We had fabulous views over all of Cork city, the beds were done with crisp white linen and were very comfortable. There was a wedding raging below but we didn't hear a thing, even with the windows open. Breakfast was nothing impressive, but had all the usual trimmings.
