It's after midnight here in our room (#222) as I'm writing this review. I'm wide awake because there is a wedding going on (on a Thursday night) and loud party guests have been hanging out outside our room for the past several hours loudly talking (sometimes shouting), laughing, carrying on. We initially had the window open because it's warm and there is neither a fan nor A/C in the rooms, but closing it has made no difference to the sound level. We have traveled a long way to be here and are dealing with some severe jet lag and this is really unacceptable.
We called the front desk to complain over an hour ago and were told by both the receptionist that she didn't think there was anything they could do about it, because it's a wedding party and it's probably people outside for a smoke. We then spoke to the manager who told us he would try to get them to quiet down, but there's a wedding party going on until 12:30, so it would quiet down after then. We have yet to hear any abatement of the noise.
I don't see why they seem to think there's nothing they can do - the parking lot is on private property and the guests could easily be asked to quiet down or leave, but apparently that's not possible. Meanwhile, while management sits on their hands, we have to sit here in this warm room trying out different white noises on my wife's phone to see if there is any way to get to sleep. How can management think this is ok? I wasn't invited to the wedding. I wasn't told when we booked that there would be a loud wedding right outside our window. We were told the hotel is sold out and there are no rooms that we could be moved to - we are wondering why they didn't bother assigning the rooms above the party to the people attending the party?
There are advertisements all over the hotel for various wedding packages, so they really appear to be trying to drive up how many weddings they have here. if you are planning on staying here (1) seriously reconsider and (2) make sure that there isn't a wedding or that you get here as soon as they start releasing rooms so you aren't stuck with this nonsense.
On top of everything else, the beds are very stiff, the pillows feel like they are made of cardboard, the linens feel like they are made out of burlap, and all the rooms appear to be smoking rooms.
It's now 12:40 and there are still people talking, shouting, laughing, and howling outside.
