“Nice hotel, dirty room and bathroom”
Reviewed September 22, 2009

I stayed here for one night recently and was booked in as part of a group booking.

The duvet cover has stains on it - grey matter, not sure what it was.

There were pubic hairs on the bath - and long hairs in the shower on the tiles.

The TV was terrible - lots of empty channels and the remote didn't work.

Didn't eat or drink in the hotel so cannot rate these.

Reception staff very friendly, and common areas were well maintained.

Did not complain as I was only there for 1 night and was only sleeping and showering there.

Would not go back on business or leisure.

My wife and I spent a few days in your splenditly refurbished hotel back in eary May 2009. The surroundings may have changed, but the food, the service and the courtesy remained as before. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

The staff were very warm and helpful. Firstly we were put into an old fashioned room which overlooked the motorway and a housing estate. Then, after complaining, we were moved to a smaller, quieter room. This new room was cosy and funky with ceiling lights that changed colour and a great en-suite. But we chose the hotel partly on the basis that all food was locally sourced and thoroughly delicious. On the first night of our stay, we thought that we would try out the restaurant but there was only a pubish sort of area to eat in with televisions on either side (noisy). I ordered a risotto which frankly was gooey and lumpy and far too full of cheese. Needless to say I didn't finish it. My boyfriend ordered a pasta dish which was overcooked and far too full of cheese. We did say it to the waitress who was very polite and gave us a nice desert to make up for our disappointment. Don't go to this food thinking it is a mini Ballymaloe, you will be sorely disappointed and be careful about which room they put you in!

I didn't check out the reviews on Tripadvisor before booking a room at this hotel so I didn't really know what to expect. Needless to say, I stayed there this weekend and was pleasantly suprised. The rooms were fantastic - clean, cosy and very modern decor. The hotel is located just around the corner from Douglas which is a nice spot to hit on the weekends. The staff were friendly and helpful and I highly recommend this hotel to anybody seeking a place to say in or around Douglas. Will definitely stay here again! 5 Stars :)

The €18M investment is obvious everywhere....from the splendid reception to the comfortable bedrooms, from the newly refurbished resturant to the conference and function suites. Of particular note is the fantastic food in the resturant....generous portions, cooked to perfection and at the right price.

This is now a hotel to suit the business traveller, those out for a family meal, locals who drop in for a pint or a quick snack or just a lazy morning for coffee and scones in the new downstairs bar just off reception.

I would definitely recommend it.

My daughter attended a Debs function in the hotel's dining room on September 8th.Due to special dietary requirements she rang the hotel to see if this could be arranged. This matter was handled by very professional staff who rang back 5 times to reassure her that this would be taken care of. I must mention Ms Marie Gabriel and the head chef who both went to great lengths to ensure all was ok. In this day and age people promise a lot without delivering but not the before mentioned. Truly a credit to there profession but also the Rochrstown Park. Every thing was delivered as promised on the night.Thank you all at the Rochestown Park. Well done.
