“Excellent dinner”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Had dinner here in May 2013 and was impressed with the menu choices. My meal was faultless and the service excellent. It is not a cheap dinner but worth the money for an occassion.

“Fishbar @ Electric”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

A great place, no reservations possible a bit of confusion as it is a seperate kitchen but they do cross over when it comes to deserts and coffees, however it is fish only and a very good job they're doing here, all tasty dishes starters, potted crab, fishsoup, ceviche, a little bit too wet, maincourses monkfish special, spicy and tasty, cod, fresh but a bit boring ah and the prawn dish...please when in Cork can we have Dublin bay prawns and not these tiger baby's from wherever in the world!
Homemade icecream excellent, service good we shall visit again.

“Very gluten-free friendly!”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

Went around Christmas time with two gluten-free friends, and the staff were extremely accomodating and helpful, and offered choices, as well as being very knowledgeable in how to accomodate existing options.

“Fantastic food & atmosphere”
Reviewed June 27, 2013 via mobile

Had dinner here with a group recently- was very impressed. The Fish Bar has a very cool vibe, with a really cosmopolitan feel to the decor. I loved the menu- had dressed crab & shrimp, divine! And smoked salmon, again delicious. Plenty of food with a salad and yummy brown bread. The only small criticisms would be too much oil and not half enough seaweed in the salad- it was sold as a seaweed salad... And not enough beetroot with the salmon. Otherwise perfect. Excellent coffee. Not cheap but having said that I was very satisfied with what were really two starters. On a sunny evening the whole experience was impossible to beat. A great addition to the Cork restaurant scene.

“Sunday Lunch”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

Had a three course sunday lunch at the weekend - excellent value @20 euro for 3 course. We have eaten here a number of times and the food is always good plus the service is well above par. Starters of savoury muffins ("reasonable") plus my lamb tagine which was excellent - melt in the mouth lamb and lovely carrots in a delicious broth, would be a fab mains. My brioche burger bun was a fail - dry and crumbled to nothing, you cant beat a super soft bun to get to grips with a good burger. The burger itself was tasty and nicely seasoned, but again somewhat dry and crumbly. The other main, roast chicken breast was amazing - moist and bursting with flavour, the accompaning risotto was fine but could have done with another cup of stock or two. We both had the flourless choc cake for dessert, which was very tasty and overly generous, coming with homemade ice and an unnecessary but tasty nut biscuit slice (could save a lot of cost on dessert and lose nothing imo...) Service was excellent as usual in a lovely room upstairs and looking forward to our next visit.
