I stay here on a regular basis on business and the staff are excellent. They always give a really warm welcome. The rooms are very comfortable, it is a city centre location so it is inevitable that you might hear some outside noise occasionally. I have used some of the meeting rooms and have always been very well catered for. I really like the coffee shop, there is always a great buzz in it.

Parking is a little away but it's not a problem.

We stayed at the Imperial hotel a couple of weeks ago. We had booked for two nights stay in a superior bedroom. Upon arrival, we checked in early but were given a very small and dated double room, even though we had offered to leave our bags and come back when the superior room was ready. We returned to reception and asked for the room to be changed, which was fine so that was resolved quickly. But unfortunately, the superior room did not include the amenities it promised on the website. Firstly, the heated floor in the bathroom didn't actually heat, the water pressure in the bath was slow, we were given one robe and slippers even though there was two of us, and the room wasn't particularly clean.

The same evening, we dined in the hotel restaurant and were seated at a wobbly table. My girlfriend just rested her hands on the table and it actually fell on her, along with everything else on it. Despite the embarrassment, the waiter didn't even apologise and just put some cardboard under the leg of the table (we should have been moved). Our food order was also taken wrong and we weren't even offered tea/coffee as our fourth course (which we paid for).

For the money we paid, we expected better standards and it would be nice to receive the amenities advertised on the website.

Despite all these negatives, the reception staff and the porter especially were all lovely and very helpful. The breakfast set up was brilliant and food was very fresh. The small cafe across from the bar is also lovely.

We had a FAB night away thanks to a Facebook competition myself and my Fiance won. We were literally spoiled rotten at the Penthouse, with champagne, strawberries and chocolates on arrival and were treated to breakfast ( room service), lunch and dinner which was devine!!! Left the next day totally relaxed after our Spa treatments and got my hair done at the Salon! Overall an amazing time there we would both highly recommend this Hotel! :)

Room Tip: We stayed at the Penthouse, cant get any higher than that!!

My daughter and I spent a week traveling thru Ireland and were really looking forward to a stay at a 4 Star rated hotel in the city center of Cork. When we arrived we were informed that the room we had booked was not available so we were switched to another room in the older unremodeled section. This section is also close to the outside of the hotel and even with earplugs it was so loud I was awakened at 4:30 am. The absolute worst part of our stay however was the parking set-up. When you check in you are informed that you must drive your car to a remote parking garage and then walk back. The map is terrible, the garage was hard to find, and walking back in the dark after a long day of traveling ridiculous. We missed our dinner reservations due to this and ate dinner in the hotel restaurant while the busboy swept around our table. Dinner was actually very good, but the bathrooms are not...tiny with no water pressure. Even with its great location this hotel is not worth the price. Not recommended.

I recently attended a wedding in The Imperial Hotel. The service from the minute we got there was brilliant nothing was too much. The staff and manager went beyond the call of duty to ensure that their hotel was a welcome haven. The food was very good I loved the retro dish chicken vol au vent. It was very tasty. The lads in the bar were on top of their game remembering a rounds and staff that smiled too was almost a novelty these days. Well done guys.

I attended a wedding there on Sat the 30th Match and all I can say is this, from the moment we entered the foyer and up until the end of the night we were all treated like royalty. The staff and management couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and courteous. The food was excellent and served with a smile. The Bride & Groom, Ruth and Anth were delighted with their choice as were all the guests and family members who stayed there also. I would highly recommend this venue to prospective wedding parties, location also a major factor, right in the centre of town.
