We were not expecting the B&B to be a 18th century Victorian walk up. We loved our stay at “Antie” Breeda’s house. She truly made us feel welcome. She was very easy to talk to and gave us excellent suggestions on our itenierary that our kids would enjoy. We were given the room at the top floor, which was very spacious with 3 beds and an ensuite bath. She even had an electric kettle and a box of mixes set up for us. The main floor has a parlor/sitting room very relaxing for writing in your travel journal. Breeda made a tasty Irish breakfast (if you like scrambled eggs just ask, she is happy to accommodate), which included the American flag as the centerpiece for our table in celebration of Independence Day. It was a sweet touch.

Had a lovely time here. Absolutely delightful couple. Very helpful and informative. The breakfasts were wonderful and a in-house Irish tenor to boot! Jodi

Great location if you like to walk. It was an easy walk to town center and to train station for train to Cobh. We had a wonderful 3 day stay and would definitely return.

Room Tip: Stay longer than 1 night and get a better room!

Breeda, the hostess was so warm and fun to talk to. We wished we were there for more than 1 night so we could have more chats. Breakfast was very nice. Only drawback, the bed could've been comfier. We were, in fairness, offered our choice of rooms and the first room's bed was comfier--did sit down on it for a minute. The room was very clean and the home is very nicely maintained.

Parking can be a problem in Cork but no problem here. It was a bit tricky to find but a phone call quickly had us on the right road. Breeda was so helpful and thought of things we didn't even know to ask. Everything a B&B should be!

(Also known as Higgins B&B) This was our 4th B&B in Ireland, so we had a basis for comparison - but after meeting Breeda & Sean, the owners, there was no comparison! The house itself had all the charm you would expect, but Breeda & Sean made it a memorable stay. Breeda recommended where to go for traditional Irish music and waited up for us to come home at night. My husband and I stayed up talking with her for a few hours when we walked in and we lost track of time. It's unfortunate we were only there for one night, as they're one of our main reasons for wanting to go back to Ireland. It's everything you would hope and expect from a B&B - but even better! It's truly a home away from home....
