“Simple and safe comfort for the Solo Traveler”
Reviewed May 29, 2012

I selected this establishment based on other travellers' reviews and I was not disappointed. My room was warm (yes, the heat was on!), roomy, comfortable and clean and the innkeepers were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Coffee and tea-making items were supplied in my room, and there was plenty of hot water for the shower. Each morning a basic, but very filling, cold and hot breakfast was prepared to my specific request. This B&B has an ideal location if you like to walk. It's near the train and bus stations, as well as Cork's Central City and major tourist attractions. The innkeepers were especially helpful in providing directions and suggestions for seeing the city and I felt very safe as I spent three days exploring the area. The area is so quiet you would never know you are just a block or two from the train station. If I ever return to Cork I'd stay there again.

Room Tip: Request a room on the second floor if you have heavy luggage. There is no elevator or lift.

We arrived late when we finally got into Cork Ireland, and Lorraine did not even blink an eye at it. She welcomed us with such a friendly atmosphere and got us quickly settled in our very spacious room. She showed us a map and where to go eat, gave us a coupon for a 2 for 1 meal at a very nice resturant. Our second night there we had to be at the airport by 4:00am to catch our flight to our next destination, Lorainne without hesitation booked a cab for us and put a nice basket of quick ready-to-eat breakfast food in our room so we could eat before we left. The B&B was a great value, the room and bathroom was large, the shower had the best pressure we had in all of Ireland, and Lorraine made a killer breakfast! We really enjoyed our stay and meeting Lorraine, so was just so pleasent.

We had one night at Kent house and throughly enjoyed our visit. Lorraine and John were very welcoming gave us good information and some coupons for food downtown, which was about a 10 min. walk. We were in room 3 and looked out at the train station so we were a little concerned about noise in the morning but we didn't hear a thing until about 7:30 and we are early risers anyway. The room was great, comfortable and clean, you just have to get used to the floor being on a slope but the house is 150 years old.

It was my recent pleasure to stay at this welcoming B & B, which I found homely, good value for money, with a close proximity to transport links.

The owners Lorraine and John were very amiable and only too pleased to share their local knowledge. They will also provide useful information regarding onward travel and locations. Each morning I enjoyed a wholesome breakfast in the cosy dining area, which in my case delayed the need for further sustenance until well into the afternoon.

I was travelling with a friend and we were both delighted that the room we were allocated was big enough to provide us with our own sleeping area and colour TV. The room was nice and clean throughout with en suite facilities.

As the name suggests, Kent House is close to Cork's Kent Railway Station. Additionally the Parnell Place Bus Station is in comfortable walking distance, thus providing easy transport links for the rest of Ireland and beyond.

I shall definitely stay here again and it is likely to be sooner rather than later.

Travelling on a budget to Cork, we stayed at this lovely B&B. I must admit, I was a bit scepticale when we first arrived but was amazed by how big and spacious the rooms were.
Everything was very clean and comfortable.
As we were 2 girls and 1 guy, we were given a family room which were a room with twin beds and an ajoining room with a double bed which were just what we needed.
The owners are very friendly people and also very helpful. They were able to provide us with some recommendations of places to go, which made our trip even better.
Breakfast was just as good and more than enough to get us going.
The train station, bus station and city centre is within walking distance, so everything you need is right there.

Thank you again for an amazing stay!

Spent a night there with my mom. It was great. I forgot some clothes there, and the owners went through great effort to mail my belongings back to me. Great location and walking distance to all of Cork. Loved Breakfast. The woman was nice and genuine
