“Just Perfect!”
Reviewed September 6, 2013 via mobile

I was only in Cork for 1 night & I needed somewhere cheap to stay close to the teain station. This place was perfect! Although the reception closes at 9pm, I was able to arrange for a later arrival time as my train was delayed from Dublin. The receptionist, Heloise was incredibly helpful & understanding, & she made me feel welcome straight away despite the fact that she had had to wait for me to turn up. The room itself was just what I needed, small, but still spacious enough. The amenities in the room were in fantadtic condition, clean floors, tables, windows & especially the shower!

For such a low price, I couldn't be happier with it, especially with the great internet connection in the rooms! This will be the first place I look at when I'm next in Cork!

The rooms were extremely nice and well valued for having private rooms with shared bathrooms and kitchens. There is no hostel feel though as you only share with 2 other rooms. It is close to the city without being too close.

I stayed in this accommodation for 2 weeks last summer. I was a bit tentative about choosing it, as hostels can have such a bad rep, but money was low at the time and I had no choice but to go for it. I was pleasantly surprised and was in no quandary about returning for 2 weeks again this summer. It's clean, quiet, has wi-fi; the staff are pleasant; the location is so central. My only complaint about the place is that it is doing itself a disservice advertising itself as a hostel. It's self-catering accommodation.

Room Tip: Get a room far away from the bathroom, as some people leave the light+fan on ...

I have stayed at the Blackmore Court for more than 6 weeks. The place is centrally located, just a minute away from Grand Parade and popular clubs Electric and Soho Rooms. There is a Hostel and short-term accomodation available in the same building. The Blackmore Court has been refurbished couple of years ago and now equipped with all modern cons, including two clothes mashing/drying facilities available at the price of 5 EUR a time. I have stayed in the shared apartment with two flat mates. I paid weekly rent and fixed utilities, at the end of the day the price was above 500 EUR a month. Our apartment had nicely equipped kitchen, with TV, bath room with shower and two bowls sink. My room had a lock. The security is treated seriously here. The heating was automatically switching three times a day. But I must say I was frequently freezing waiting for the night shift of the heater. The bed linen was supplied by the Blackmore Court. Latterly it turned to be quite expensive at the price of 80 EUR, beside that it was me who washed it and paid for washing. The official price of the bed linen stated on the home page is 60 EUR, so I was charged additional 20 EUR with no explanations from the management.
My room was nice with quality wooden furniture - a table, bed and wardrobe. I had Wi-Fi too. The high ceiling and a tall window with louver made room quite shadowy. There is a single glazed window, so all street noisy was always present. Unfortunately, the actual neighbourhood is far from being called pleasant. The abandoned multi store building is the place for non-stop booze.
I would recommend this place for someone who is easily falling asleep at any temperature, never mind any noise, does not matter how loud it is and how long it last. If you choose to stay at this place, always check the prices of all items without price tags in the contract to avoid disappointments and hole in your tight budget. May be look for a place elsewhere to compare.

Upon arriving, the staff was incredibly nice.

We stayed in a private double room with a shared bathroom. The room was very clean. Bed was okay, not the best but not the worst.

There is a full kitchen which is great! The shared bathroom was not what we preferred but it was fine.

Only complaint: the tap water was brown at times. Don't drink it!

If you're going to Cork for a cheap & Cheerful weekend away with the lads, make sure you give this hostel a look! Not really a hostel, more so very spacious and clean shared apartments, this hostel was exactly what we were looking for! With 3 of us sharing a full apartment, we found it could have easily slept 5 or 6 comfortably! The complimentary milk, tea, coffee, bread, butter & jam was also a nice touch! Not too early of check out times. Only down side is there is only street parking, but other than that was a pleasure to stay in! I'll definitely be staying here again!

Tucked away in a beautiful lane in the centre of Cork, is this awesome hostel. I wouldn't really call it a hostel, more serviced shared apartments. Each floor has separate apartments with the bedrooms with their own keys. The kitchen/tv/lounge area is nice with complimentary bread, spreads, tea and coffee. The rooms themselves are great, very clean, cleaner than most hotels I've been on in my travels. It's very new so it's just the same as a modern apartment. The staff are extremely friendly and the prices are fantastic.

Free wifi too, so you really can't complain.
If you're traveling to Cork, there isn't much else here that would beat this place.
