was on a weekend trip to cork last week & we came across a restaurant named isaacs. from the second we walked in everything about it was right. set in an old ware house the athmosphere was electric. great staff served delicious food. loved the mix of specials, irish nettle soup to tempura of prawns. finished off with delicious youghurt & cardamon cream with poached rhubarb!.

Had dinner with friends in Isaac's 8/4/10 early bird menue excellent but I would have to agree with another review that the Chocolate and apple crumble was not hectic. Over all the dessert on the early bird menue could be reviewed. But enjoyed the rest of the menue.

We have enjoyed a meal at Isaacs a number of times but on the only occassion we brought our children with us ( ages 7 and 10) we were very disappointed. No childrens menu and no half portions. They only options for the children were pasta or chicken pieces. No deserts suitable for children, not even vanilla ice cream and considering the children had little to eat it was very pricy.

Isaac's Restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel receception clerk. We walked over for lunch and were very pleased with the ambience, food and service. The wait staff are very efficient and get your drink orders almost before you sit down - they seem to cater to many busness types at lunch so speedy service would be critical.
We saw that the ladies next to us were having the day's special of fish cakes and salad so we gave that a go. It was no disappointment!! The chef's special recipe fish cakes were filled with moist chunks of lightly smoked fish and seasoned potato. The salad was made of organic mixed greens with fresh chopped tomato and deliciously sweet pickled cucumbers. To accompany the meal, we had a basket of Isaac's wonderful homemade breads and butter. The meal was grand. In fact, we returned the next day to order the same meal (for dinner)(unfortunately, this timeI did find a large bone in my fishcake-not so pleasant) and topped it off with a shared sticky toffee pudding - OMG - heaven. When in Cork, be sure to try Isaacs.

Delicious grub and very friendly waitress! Prawns were amazing in chilli sauce. Stay clear of the chocolate chip apple crumble! Not good!
