We stayed two nights in the Paradiso and had dinner there one of the nights. The room was comfortable, chic, and stocked with nibbles and complimentary spring water. It was a bit noisy on Friday night, being next to a pub/nightclub, but that was really only at chucking out time for about twenty minutes. Plus it's compensated for by the fact that you can lie in as late as you want on a Sunday.

The food, both breakfast and dinner, was just fantastic and was accompanied by friendly service and an excellent wine list. I will certainly stay here again, as soon as I can manage it.

The Cafe Paradiso is simply stunning! We stayed on the dinner bed and breakfast deal and it was such amazing value. The room was enormous, with loads of lovely little extras and the shower was superb. Our meal was amazing, my hubby is not a veggie but said it was one of the best he'd ever had anywhere! Then the breakfast the next morning was just as knockout - freshly squeezed orange juice, the morning papers and the most sublime scrambled egg I have ever eaten. This place only has two rooms so fight for them because this place is a true hidden gem!

Spent an idyllic night int he Cafe Paradiso rooms as a wedding present from friends, and can't wait to come back. Had eaten in the restaurant before, but it was the first time staying there, and it was everything we had heard about it. Beautiful spacious room, with fridge, and complimentary water/nibbles, tea/coffee etc. The room had a fab view of the river, but had brilliant blinds that blocked out every inch of light at night. It was such a treat to just walk down stairs for dinner, then back up afterwards with the rest of our bottle of wine. The food here has always been brilliant, and this visit didn't disappoint. But what we love is the relaxed, but top notch service. You feel you are eating with friends here. We were asked what time we would like to come down for breakfast the next morning, which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was amazing, a lovely finale to a great visit. The restaurant staff had warned us about potential noise in our front facing room due to revellers in the pub nearby, but that didn't bother us at all, the blinds blocked out much of the noise. Great place. We will be back.

Arrived around 7pm and asked the waiter downstairs about the room we booked. Was a bit weary as there wasn't any hotel desk, but we were soon greeted by a lovely lady who guided us to our room. The room was ridiculously spacious with a King size bed, sofa, small fridge, scrabble for games, cd's with radio and several books. The bathroom was also big and clean. They do provide car parking tickets for the period of time that there are restrictions but it could be a problem finding a space at the front of the hotel. We parked a block away and moved the car at a later period.
Booked a table for dinner which was very nice. The service was slow but I guess this was probably because they knew we were staying upstairs and guessed we wanted to enjoy the experience. Could not even have dessert because the starter and main course were so fulfilling, although they were not large portions.
Breakfast was delicious with two course that left you filled for the day. You do not have to be a vegeterian to enjoy. Would definitely visit again if I am in the area.

Cafe Paradiso is a 'restaurant with rooms'. It has a highly-acclaimed vegetarian restaurant and it offers B&B in three rooms above the restaurant. Nobody in our group was vegetarian and we enjoyed the evening meal enormously (despite some initial reluctance from my father-in-law!).

Breakfast here is a feast - probably the best I've ever had (even without bacon!). Service was a little slow on Sunday morning because the restaurant isn't open to the public on Sundays so there was only one chef working, but we read the free newspapers and enjoyed the bottomless coffee pot.

My husband and I stayed in Room 2 (2nd floor at the front) and my in-laws stayed in Room 1 (1st floor at the front), both were extremely spacious and well-decorated in a cotemporary style with a large sitting area. In each room there is a cd player, games, books, magazines and fridge stocked with plenty of delicious goodies (all but the wine provided free of charge). I didn't even notice that there wasn't a TV until the second day.

We were expecting it to be a bit noisy, given the location over the restaurant, but it was very quite and comfortable. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk to the centre of Cork and parking outside the restaurant overnight wasn't a problem.

I will definitely visit Cork again and I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

If only there were more modern, high quality, B&Bs like this one.
