“Top class”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013 via mobile

We had main courses and desert

I had pork in cider and mustered sauce. It was without doubt one of the best dishes I have had in ages. The flavour was what could be called as five star home cooking. We also had a curry which was first class. For desert we had tiramisu and cheese cake both of which were superb

Over all with glass of the house red which was just the right temperature an excellent meal

“Superb food & excellent service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013

Visited 24th June after checking trip advisor. Restaurant quiet to start but soon filled up. Food was delightful especially the yellow fish, one of those meals you don't want to end. Enjoyed it all & the young girl waiting on was very attentive & nothing was too much trouble & I noticed the other six tables all received exactly the same attention. She was a real gem.

“Heaven at Harvey's”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

I don't ever want to die, because heaven can't be this good! The 'Cork Yellow Fish' (smoked haddock in a cheese sauce) followed by the 'New York Cheesecake' at Harvey's does it for me every time. Substitute a glass of the house white instead of the starter and wait for the fish to cool a little....and we're off and away and trippin' in fine dining ecstasy!

There are a lot of good restaurants in that part of town i.e. French Church Street, Carey's Lane & Paul Street, so the competition is fierce. Anyone with a business brain in their head can tell it's a buyer's market. Twenty euro for three courses? SOLD!!

And on the rare occasion that the shiny yellow thing appears in the sky, my advice is to take a table on the Carey's lane side of Harvey's where one can enjoy the architectural beauty of the Huguenot Quarter to best advantage.

PS: If the cheesecake is not on, the crème brulee is almost as good.

“Freshly prepared food with a bite.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

All aspects of the experience of Dining at Harveys was excellent, from the service, the freshly prepared food, the presentation, the crockery, the wine choices...alll the boxes were ticked.
I would definately recomend the Clonakilty starter type salad...its got that fresh warm bite that one dreams of.
