We enjoyed the castle and I kissed the Blarney Stone (don’t do this if you are worried by heights). The gardens were very well set out and pretty. The grounds are extensive - so allow time to explore. However it is really expensive to get in. - especially compared to other excellent sites in Ireland.

Entry is a bit expensive for what you get. Gardens are beautiful and the castle has some interesting points (including the Blarney Stone) but that's about all. Views of the countryside from the top of the castle are beautiful.

We visited here on a Paddy Wagon day trip from Dublin. Sadly the way they organised the day meant we got there at a busy time of day and the queue to kiss the Stone was over an hour (we only got two hours there in total). Instead we opted to explore the grounds which are vast with many different sections to see. We barely got to explore a third of the grounds. Would have like a full day here and will definitely come back for longer if in Ireland again so can do it all.

Bonus points to the onsite cafe too - lovely to find somewhere that does great vegan sandwich options!

This is a lovely setting. The climb to the top is steep but the views are great. I was disappointed with the blarney stone itself. In my mind I pictured something more like Plymouth Rock. The grounds are very nice to roam through.

We LOVED the Blarney Castle and Gardens! It took us about 3 hours to complete, and I recommend going first thing when they open, and going the exact opposite way of the tour groups. The tour groups will go right to the castle, we did a detour and followed the paths thru the gardens and then ended with the Castle. If you go to the castle right away, the trip up is very very narrow, and I wouldn't want to do that with a group.
The gardens are stunning, small little hidden gems here and there. We grabbed a map on the way in, follow it and youll love.
Tips when going: wear running shoes cause it's slippery and narrow to the top of the castle, as well it's mostly dirt trails so it's easier with runners/sneakers.
