Stayed in the Ashford Court Boutique hotel recently, very hard to find the hotel, no signs! Checked in fine, room nice enough, although two single beds pushed together isn't my idea of a double bed.. Food in restaurant, not great. Had steaks they were small and lacked taste. Night porter very strange, bumped into him in local bar, seemed to like his beer and was meant to be on duty. This made me very uneasy as he should have been in the hotel. What if there was a fire?? How would he be able to carry out his duties? Overall I wont stay there again.. Time to get the paint brushes out and renovate a bit!

Let's get the negatives over first. The word "boutique" conjures up a certain standard and style so we were quite surprised upon entering the hotel to find that it didn't fit our idea of "boutique hotel". The small hotel feels cramped, but the worst part of the stay was our room. The double room was dingy and beat-up; the lighting was poor and the bathroom needed cleaning. There was a glass in the bathroom with a lipstick stain. The bed linen was clean; however, and the beds were comfortable.

On the positive side, the two people that we encountered at the check-in desk both upon arriving and leaving were very helpful and kind. In fact, we didn't have the heart to complain about the room because they seemed so eager to please and for us, it was just a night. After seeing the room, we were dubious about the restaurant, Juliano's, but we were pleasantly surprised at how WONDERFUL the food was. We complimented the chef and he sent a complimentary after dinner drink and dessert to us. The service was friendly, too. If the folks at Ashford Court would give the hotel a good cleaning and update the rooms, it would be a nice place to overnight in Ennis.

Hotel was situated behind shops facing an estate. Checked in with no problems. Some lights and a telephone not working in one room. Picture over bed hanging out of frame. Wifi signal too weak to carry connection. In friends room their emergency light went on in the middle of the night. As they don't speak english they did not feel comfortable contacting the front desk. When front desk was informed there was no apology or reaction. Had meal in attached resteraunt. Waiter and chef had poor english. All food grilled came fried? Rare steak came burnt as crisp. Chef then tried to apologize but didn't have english and had row in front of us with front desk over sending teas to our rooms. In morning "full breakfast" consisted of toast and selection of three cereals.

Stayed in this hotel returning from the Galway races when rest and relaxation in a nice hotel were just what the doc ordered....Really nice boutique hotel, huge bed in a big, comfortable room. Had trouble finding the hotel was only complaint, tucked away in a housing estate.... Lovely new, clean bathroom...great dinner in the Italian restaurant downstairs.........breakfast very tasty but service a bit all over the place...small gripe with an otherwise great stay...so good stayed a second unplanned night. Well done to all at Ashford Court..will def be back!

We stayed at the Ashford Court Hotel during August 2009. The staff were lovely, the food was very good value and the rooms were spacious, modern and very clean. The hotel itself is quite small, with no leisure facilities, but is perfect if you are looking for great value modern accommodation, and yummy Italian food in Juliono's restaurant and wine bar. Only a shot stroll from all Ennis' shops and pubs. I will be back!

The following are my comments on this hotel: 1) Lack of secure parking 2) damp smell in room 3) Sheets had not been changed on bed 4) Breakfast - no individually wrapped butter. Given butter from a dish that had been used firstly by other guests.
