“OK for the good price I paid”
Reviewed June 11, 2009

We stayed here for 5 nights the end of March. Our room had three single beds which was good for the 3 of us. The only problem with the bed was the cover was small and it didn't cover me when on my side. That combined with the lack of control over the heat made for some chilly nights.

The room and its furnishings were pretty worn. One morning we ran out of both toilet tissue and facial tissue. We made a call and we were quickly supplied with tissue. It would have been nice if the housekeeping checked the levels of such things more regularly.

As mentioned on other posts the hotel is quite a maze. One can exit the hotel near your room but the only way to come in is the main entrance. When loaded with groceries or luggage it can be quite the haul back to your room.

There is a grocery store right next to the hotel that was a good source of picnic supplies for us. Too bad there were no fridges or microwaves in the room.

We went to the pub one night and found it very quiet. We did not eat at the restaurant and cannot comment on it. The pool, sauna and steam room were nice.

The front desk staff was very helpful. I hit a rock in my travels and got a flat tire-bent the rim. She phoned serveral places for me to find someone who could repair the tire. The shop in town fixed the tire for 7 euro. Sure beat buying a new one for 75!

Overall not a bad place, but nothing to write home about either.

it is so old, grotty, grubby, smelly. Some places were 'touched up' with paint but was totally noticable by the bad quality of work.
The staff were ok, the place needs an overhall,
We went for a swim, we had noticed that building was 'new' in comparision so hoped it would be ok, but the mould in the showers was discusting, no shower gel in the containers, one shower broken, towel needed at door of sauna to stop steam going out.
Oh some rooms (had to have a peek to compare) had absolutely the most oldfashioned tiles one could possible think of - they could nearly be back in fashion if they hold out long enough!! Oh and one more thing, the room key system was out of order all day Saturday and Sunday - strange it could not be fixed.

Would not recommend this hotel to ANYONE. Room was grubby and bed clothes were old and didnt instill confidence. Had to get different room as the boiler was next to the room and you could have fried an egg on the carpet (which was sticky-yuck!!!)

Booked it on 1800hotels so only paid 90euro for the room but was amazed to see recommended prices. Was more like a hostel than a hotel. it also said it was 1km from ennis town centre - more like 3!!!

Only saving grace was the leisure centre although jacuzzi smelled funny.

Left a comment card saying how bad place was to see if they contacted me but comments box had a few comment cards inside so doubt they will contact me.

Stayed last weekend with my wife and 3 kids in 2 adjoining rooms. While being a little dated the value was exceptional with very comfortable beds and lovely linen. In leisure centre all weekend with kids which was great. The Barneys playcentre nearby was a lifesaver and loved by the kids.

Dingy hotel in need of a major facelift. Stayed for 2 nites, room very cold, kettle in the room but not workin properly and no where to plug in unless u used the bedside light plug, no hot water in room after 1130am, had to use the showers in the leisure centre. Although friends stayed in the newer part and their rooms were better. On a plus the food, both breakfast and bar food was excellent. Very expensive too, E270 for 2 adults and one child, stayed at 4* hotels in Sligo and Castlebar for a lot less!!!!
