I was given a groupon voucher for this hotel as a gift earlier this year. I wish I was given a different gift! I wi]would give this hotel 1 out of 10. Food was brutal, staff very unfriendly very unhelpful, Was clean but not cleanest. Bedrooms in need of a refurb ASAP.

This hotel is great... or isn't great... depending on what you want. It's not walking distance to anything and Ennis is rather stressful to drive in (lots of one ways, lots of traffic!)... but it does have a good on-site restaurant with music most nights. It has a pool/fitness center... but it's a community center so there whenever I tried to go there were either lessons going on or it was public swim time. It has wifi... but a lot of the rooms are off a labyrinth of hallways and staircases the signal doesn't reach beyond the main floor of the main building. The only thing that I liked about it was the fact it was a bit of a break from b&b's. It was a decent place to stay for one night and sleep in for one morning... but I cancelled the rest of my stay and moved on.

My partner and i stayed here for 2 nights. Upon arrival we were greeted with a welcoming atmosphere. The reception and lobby area were clean n cosy looking. . We then checked in and went to our room. The rooms were very basic. In need of some redecorating. Marks on the walls n lamp shades hanging off. And the bathroom had a mustard color witch wasnt de prettiest. Although the rooms were old fashioned and in need of some work they were spotless clean and the beds were very comfy. We had a slight problem with our heatin and after complaining we were assisted within 5 minutes. The highlight of our stay was the evening meal we had on the second night. It was amazing . If we had of known the food was so good wed have stayed in the hotel for food on the first night. The staff in the hotel were a great bita craic n made it their business t come and chat with us especially the bar staff. They were very helpful and had no problem answering our questions about the nightlife in Ennis town. Another highlight was the sing song in the lobby of some locals. Proper traditional session with all their own instruments. Overall i truly enjoyed our stay and would go back in a flash. Not so much for the hotel rooms. But for the leisure club and the bars atmosphere.

We got a deal to this hotel on one of the offer sites. It's a basic country style hotel which is absolutely fine with good clean rooms. The staff were really friendly. the breakfast was grand. nothing spectacular but reasonable. One thing that really kills me is the powdered eggs instead of proper scrambled eggs. i did ask for a couple of fried egges on the Sunday and i was given them without a problem.

The bar was good and we had food there which again was very good. My friends had steaks though and they were not impressed. they were overcooked and were tough. However, i had the chicken & noodles and that was very tasty. Ennis is a great town and was very lively with plenty of bars with music etc. All in all, we had a great experience at the Auburn Lodge.

Room Tip: Make sure to bring you swimming cap if you want to use the spa.

Location is very good being near many tourist attractions Bunratty Castle which the children realy enjoyed and the Cliffs of Moher were a highlight for me. The town of Ennis is very near with great shops. We ate in the hotel and sampled the bar menu it was tasty and good value. Our room was comfortable and clean if not a little 'dated' and staff throughout the hotel were kind and courteous and especially patient with our young children.

Room Tip: ask for a garden room lovely view!
