“We couldn't have had a better time.”

My husband and I had a wonderful three-day stay at An Ti Glas Cottage very recently, and it was a complete and utter delight and success. We felt lucky to have found not only the cottage (or, rather, its attached granary, which is a lovely, charming, three-level space), but also its owners, Jason and Nicole Horner. We highly recommend this beautifully, comfortably, conveniently appointed lodging and this semi-rural but perfectly accessible location. It's a bit off the beaten path and we needed a generous and patient escort (Jason) to help us find it one dark evening, but once we saw the roadways by daylight, we saw that we were not far afield at all and in fact were wonderfully placed for daytrips throughout County Clare and elsewhere. We found warm, fresh scones on the table and a glowing fire in the woodstove when we arrived, and all of our needs were met otherwise in the form of a cozy and completely comfortable bed, a light-filled sitting room filled with excellent books, helpful maps, and a small and excellent library of music, plus a great bathroom with a great shower, a roomy kitchen with everything we needed for home-cooking, a plant-edged patio, and more. We would recommend the special granary apartment to any couple looking for a quaint but yet contemporary refuge from the hubbub. A spiral staircase to the sitting room and bedroom was a charming element to us, but I suppose it might be a challenge for some travelers and for small children. But the larger cottage itself (to which the granary apartment is attached but completely separate) seems like a wondrous place for families or friends. We'd love to return to the granary with our kids and our grandkids in the cottage!

“Fantastic for kids”

We had the pleasure of staying at this cottage last week and loved every minute of it. The cottage is brilliant - very comfortable and very relaxing. The owners are lovely people and we really enjoyed meeting them and their dogs, Angus and Bella.

We travelled with 4 young kids aged 8 and under. The mini-football pitch, trampoline and swing set ensured they didn't miss having a TV. As soon as they got up in the morning and when we returned from a days activities, the kids just rushed outside to play. Angus is a big dog (Scottish Deerhound) and at 2 years old is so calm and great with kids. he just stands there while they pet him even though he towers over them. Even our most dog fearing child quickly came round to his charms!!

I thought I would miss the TV but I didn't with some relaxing music provided and a good book which I was generally too relaxed to even read. I loved this cottage.

Clare is a fantastic county with so much to see and do and while this cottage is slightly out of the way a bit and needs you to drive to the attractions, I would book it again. As a parent with a young family, the outdoor space and facilities makes all the difference in that all important early evening when returning after a long day out and preparing a meal - the kids are entertained.

Finding this cottage for the first time is a bit daunting. My advice - go to www.leenorganics.com and follow the directions provided there rather than Google maps or even satnav. The directions on the owners website are very detailed and you cant go wrong. After the first drive out and you now know your way, you will find the cottage is only 10 mins from Ennis (I timed it). And you get perfect peace and tranquillity.

The website we booked through would only allow us to book for 3 kids but we thought we could squeeze in and make do as we were interested in the Eco-cottage idea, the organics and the outdoor space. When we arrived it wasn't a problem as the owners quickly provided us with an extra z-bed with no hassle. The cottage is small so I wouldn't take 4 older kids or more than 4 young kids to it. As it was, though, with our 4 kids at the age they are, we had an absolute ball and were tempted to stay an extra night but work beckoned unfortunately.

Bottom line, if you are going to Clare give this cottage serious consideration. It is a great spot with great owners and lovely interesting dogs. We book a cottage every year and this is the best one yet.

“Great cottage close to County Clare attractions with fabulous hosts.”

My family of five had a wonderful time staying at the cottage. Warm, cozy, and low impact on the environment, too. What drew us to the cottage was the rural setting, and we were happy with our decision. We enjoyed the farm, the fresh eggs, visits from Angus, and playing football when we weren't visiting The Burren, the Cliffs of Mohrer, various castles, and going horseback riding. We enjoyed lovely walks from our base each evening. Our children even chose to have a stay at the cottage day, because they enjoyed it so much. Jason and Noelle are great hosts. We enjoyed our conversations with them as well.

The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. Plenty of wood was available for the wood stove to make it more cozy. It was nice to come back here after traveling for the day. Many great sites in the area and lots more a few hours away. Great hosts. All around good experience.

“Great place to get away from it all and experience rural Ireland”
Reviewed October 29, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We (2 adults plus kids aged 4 & 1) spent a week at this wonderful cottage in Oct 2013. Jason & Noelle are excellent hosts, always there to help when needed. The location is so relaxing that our kids slept in everyday, which was great for the adults.
* Very clean with everything you need including towels, linen, kitchen utensils and laundry.
* Swings, trampoline and animals for kids to play with and explore. Lots of children’s books you can read to the kids before bed.
* Many interesting books on Irish history & culture to read and relax with after the kids go to sleep
* Maps and other touristy information. Jason & Noelle will also help out with their local knowledge of restaurants and other businesses
* You can get fresh produce off of Jason’s farm. You will also find most of the common ingredients in the pantry
* Perfect amount of space for a family of four (or five) to be comfortable
* The sky at night is amazing! Turn off all the lights and enjoy the dazzle
If you want to be in a rural environment to unwind, this is the place to go. Be aware that our cell phones did not get good reception, so the Internet on your phone will probably not work. Jason has Internet at their house that they graciously offered for our use. There is no TV but there is a stereo and excellent collection of Irish music. Our toddler did not complain even once about missing her cartoons in the morning.

Other suggestions:
* If you use your phone as a GPS for driving directions, get an app that uses offline maps. We used CoPilot for iPhone and it worked extremely well. Use Leen Organics as the location marker and you won’t have any difficulties with directions. We thought about renting a GPS but decided to use the $14 app instead. Signages on the roads are poor but the app kept us going in the right direction and re-routing as necessary.
* Shannon airport is about 25 mins away. We got a hotel near the airport for the last night but regretted it. It is an easy drive to the airport. The airport itself is pretty small without a lot of traffic.
* For folks worried about driving on the “other” side of the road – you will get used to it very quick. My wife had never driven on the left side but she did not have any issues. The problematic part, especially for folks from the States, is the width of rural roads. There is virtually no shoulder to speak of and driving on a narrow road can be tricky when there are trucks coming in the other direction.

With everything you would need to live on, including delicious fresh fruit & veg from right outside the cottage, a roaring fire & a bathtub, this cottage is the perfect place to go for a relaxing holiday. I especially appreciated the very comfortable bed, and loved the gorgeous dogs! There are lots of things to see in the area if you feel like a day trip, and Jason & Noelle can recommend some great eco-touristy things to do. Would definitely recommend!!

“Genuine Irish country cottage incl. caring hosts and organic vegetables!”

We, family of five (children age: 4,4 and 2), spent the most fantastic 2 1/2 weeks at Leen Organics. It could not have been a better place to stay! The warm welcome to the cozy and very clean cottage was the best start of our holidays. We arrived quite late at night on the first day and the welcome package of bread, butter, scones and milk and ice cream for the kids simply delighted us. Each day we enjoyed coming "home" to our cottage after our sightseeing trips in the area. We felt personally pampered by our hosts, supplying toys for our kids to play with and even a blowup swimming pool, when there were none to be found in the whole of Ireland, due to the hot hot summer this year. Situated near the town of Ennis,West Ireland, with plenty to see and do nearby. We saw castles, churches, wild dolphins and much more. Ennis is an interesting old city with all the modern shopping needs, as well as interesting historical sites. We also loved buying and eating the organic vegetables (and eggs) which were growing outside our front door! We simply loved the house, the hosts and the beautiful and tranquil surroundings.
