“Great Find”

This is a "must see" for those who hunger for the history of Ireland and County Clare, specifically. The exhibits are well-done and give one a marvelous perspective on things Irish. A bonus is that there is NO admission charge!

“Interesting free attraction”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

This small museum has some interesting artifacts from the Clare area. Part of the museum was closed off during our visit, so we did not get to see everything--we only spent about 1/2 hour here. What was there was nicely presented. It shares its building with a TI and gift shop. This makes a good companion to visiting the Ennis friary for a few hours of educational fun in Ennis.

“Central Location”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

This is a small and interesting museum. It is based on the local history of the County. Within it's confines has a well that supplied water to the local community. This is safely covered with strong glass which allows you see down into the well. Admission is free here.
Another bonus is that the Tourist Office is located in the same building.

Small but interesting museum located in a former convent. Worth spending half an hour. Centrally located close to O'Connell street. Small gift shop attached.

“Good Local Museum”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is a good local museum. It is of interest to those who wish to know more about the history of County Clare. I am not sure about its attraction for the casual visitor to the county. It is difficult enough to find. It is overhead the tourist information office which is down a laneway off O Connell Square.
