It was a Wednesday night...front desk staff was very nice, very friendly...gave us directions, gave us a wake-up call...the breakfast in the morning was fine...the guy at the bar, again, was very friendly. The room was basic, quiet, comfortable, just what we needed, at a reasonable price. I'm told there's a loud disco scene happening Thursdays through the weekend, but on a Wednesday night, the place was low-key and low volume. Nice, elegant little lobby. The place is next door to an ancient friari which is worth a visit. In the morning, we walked the 15 minutes to the bus station to catch the bus to Shannon Airport, glad that we had stayed at the Queens rather than paying substantially more at one of the other hotels in town.

First room I had was dirty, no lights worked, large cobwebs on drapes, carpet was not vacuumed, walls marked up, and looked like dried vomit on floor by side of bed. Only the bathroom was nice. They did change room quickly and second room was much better as it was redone. Hotel was not full so why give out a disgusting room in the first place? Hotel staff service overall was poor and came across as if you were bothering them when asking questions. Early morning front desk worker did not know how to check people out of hotel. Nightclub was noisy but nothing too terrible at least for the room I was in. Location was good but Ennis is a small town so really you could stay any where there and it would be good. Would I stay again? No. For a few dollars more stay at the Old Ground.

Room tip: Ask for a updated room.

Queens provided comfortable beds, as well as a great location well within town, for good rates in Ennis. The one downside would have to be the nightclub below the rooms - if you're wanting a quiet night I'd invest in some ear plugs.

Got a 2 night break on escapes.ie to stay here €79. Which I would have to be paid to stay here again. No parking ,poor service,3 working tv channels, rooms full of cobwebs. Bathroom work tops shocking. I am easily pleased but I would not stay here again. Dump

After having a terrible experience at the Rowan Tree Hostel on Tues night, April 15th we checked into the Queens Hotel across the street for our 2 remaining days in Ennis. The rate was exactly the same as the hostel but the accommodations were 10 times better. We had a room which over looked Abbey street. The room was very clean. Beautiful bathroom with a shower curtain, unlike the hostel where there wasn't one. Shampoo, soap, conditioner, towels, just like a "real" hotel. There was a hot pot for making tea and coffee in the room. The bed was super comfortable. We actually had a place to hang up our clothes. The staff was very friendly.

The room rate included full Irish breakfast which was probably the best breakfast we had during our 12 days in Ireland. All together we had a wonderful stay at the Queens Hotel and we will stay there again.

Sincerely,
Greg Miller

Room tip: We liked the room over looking Abbey street. Great view.
