We have eaten here on other visits to Ennis, always worthwhile, good food at excellent prices. This week 5 of us had lunch and once again no problems. We will return.

“Better and better and better!!”
Reviewed July 13, 2013 via mobile

This isn't the first time I've raved about The Dining Room, but I can't stop myself - it just goes from strength to strength! We came for a special occasion dinner tonight, and we were not disappointed. We began with the mushrooms stuffed with Clonakilty black pudding (only the best in Ireland, IMHO) and the baked Brie parcels. The mushrooms have been mentioned in other recent reviews, and we concur - wonderful! A perfect balance of mushroom, pudding and garlicky mayonnaise, no flavor dominating, topped with the merest hint of bacon flakes, each bite an "ahhh"! The baked Brie, no stranger from many starter menus, appeared as lovely parcels, wrapped in crisp, flakey wonton wrappers, ideal and light for a warm night (oh, by the way, during the unusual Irish heat wave we're having, the AIR CONDITIONING is sooo nice!), served with an exquisite homemade chutney, and we could've stopped right there and felt we'd hit dining Nirvana. But we went on... And both ordered pan-fried (read "perfectly seared") fillet of hake served in a cockle, mussel and leek cream sauce. Wow! Now nearly filled to the limit, we read the dessert menu for the entertainment value, and can't rate it for the night, but from past experience, I know the Etonian Mess is yummy, and most of the other offerings will make you feel delightfully overfill and guilty, but oh my! Don't miss this place!

“Great place to eat”
Reviewed July 2, 2013 via mobile

Happened to be there when they were experimenting with a new dish: small full cornfed chickens. Tasty but hard work. Impressive however how much feedback the staff looked for. They were really anxious to get things right. Will be back.

“Superb food”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

Hi all,was passing through Ennis earlier in the week and we decided to stop for a bite to eat. Pulled in just off the main road, parking was great, just fifty yards directly across the road from the dining room. First impression was good,a cosy, gleaming, well decorated restaurant. The waitress was very nice and friendly, and great with the kids. My wife had the sea trout, they made chicken goujons for the kids, and I had the duck. All looked beautiful and tasted fantastic, all in all a great expierence. Would definetly recommended the dining room and will be calling in on the way home next week!
