“A very nice stop-over”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2013

Sleepy Hollow is a very nice B&B. The breakfast is delicious and the bedroom is pretty comfortable !!
Moreover, Elisabeth is really sweet and give godd good advices to organise the trip!!!
It's well located with respect distance to Ennis and the other enjoyable places to visit like the Cliffs of Moher.

Driving through Ennis we found Sleepyhollow B&B by chance and found it to be warm, cheerful and cozy. The hostess, Elizabeth was, charming, friendly and hospitable. She helped us work out an itinerary for the following day and suggested the best places to eat and hear traditional music . The bed was the most comfortable of our trip and the breakfast was varied, tasty and healthy.

Sleephollow was a nice quaint B&B. The room was a descent size, and the bathroom was nice. The shower has an electric heater, so no chance of running out of hot water. The breakfast was very good, and had the best cup of coffee in Ireland. It is located on a nice and quiet street with enough parking. Just a 10 minute walk into Ennis city center.

The best part of this B&B was by far the hostess. In a country full of great people Elizabeth was the best. She was so welcoming and helpful. We had a problem with our car hire, and Elizabeth went over and above to help us get the problems resolved. She even insisted on driving us to Shannon airport to pick up the new car. Spending time at Sleepyhollow with Elizabeth was a great way to end a wonderful trip.

We stayed at Sleepyhollow for four nights in late June 2013. This charming place is nicely at walking distance from beautiful Ennis center. It was also very suitable as a base for exploring the countryside with a rented car. The house and room was nice, breakfast perfect and the landlady very charming. It couldn't have been better.

The host was very welcoming, and we felt like we were staying with friends and not in a B&B. She gave us helpful advice on where to go in town. The location is close to Ennis town center, where you can walk for a nice meal and drink in the evening, and a short drive from the Cliffs of Moher. The rooms is large, clean and comfortable, and the common spaces are tastefully decorated.

I found this place by accident; after a long weekend of driving girlfriend, sleep was beginning to get the better of me so we decided to stop in Ennis where we happened upon Sleepy Hollow. Elizabeth was very welcoming and had lots of advice on what to do in the town and where to get dinner. The house is nicely kept and, most importantly, the bed is most comfortable that I've been in for years! I wanted to bring it back home with me but it wouldn't fit in a hatchback...

This review is based on a trip to Ireland from June 2nd to 19th when my wife and I stayed in 7 B&B. So there is both a comparative and an absolute dimension in these rankings. Weather was more humid and cold than normal.
Stayed there two nights. Instructions to find it were precise. Parking was easy. Good location to visit the Burren in a day. Elizabeth is a very nice host with well-behaved dog ; chatting with her helped us gain a better understanding of the English-Irish relationship.
Room was average size. Large bed was comfortable and bathroom was OK. Self-controlled heating in room (portable radiator). Light street noise at night since our room faced on the street (10 meters away) which has traffic above a standard residential street. Cozy lounge with lots of reading material.
Reasonable TV selection and wifi worked fine. Breakfast was very nice with scones.
Given the price and quality of service, I rank it very good (would be excellent save for closeness to street). As a fellow Canadian I note that the one average rating based on hard to find is unwarranted; the instructions are clear and precise.
A nice restaurant in town: Aroma had just begun offering supper that week. And on the way to/from Cork the Foyne flyingboat museum was quite interesting.

Room Tip: Back room is quieter
