Description: Wonderful atmosphere for a sing-along, and one can enjoy listening to many famous musicians nightly during the Summer. Come and enjoy a 'session' with many of Clare's well known musicians. The pub gets its name from a famous tailor who resided in the area, made famous by the song "Spancill Hill" which has the June Fair held in the locality each year.

I stopped in here for a pint of Guinness and to enjoy some live trad music. The bar was very quiet until about 10:30 pm, and then it picked up pace and was very loud and fun. It's actually quite a large bar, even though it's deceiving when you first enter. Service was great!

We stopped into Cruise's for dinner, attracted by the menu advertising Irish stew, and the very reasonable prices. The food was very good, but the highlight of the evening was our very friendly and helpful server, Michael. He gave us a good tip on ordering wine and beer, and made us feel like regular customers even though it was our first and only visit. Too bad we were leaving Ireland the next day, or we would have been back for a return visit to Cruise's.

Lovely pub with good food. Our waiter was terrific and educated us about the game of hurling - very nice dinner experience!

We had a lovely dinner at Cruises. I particularly enjoyed the goat cheese salad. Sean our server was a delight.

On the last day of our week in Ireland we heard about the Hurling Semifinal match between Dublin and Clare that was being played just blocks away from our hotel. We tried and failed to get tickets (10,000 fans, many local, had snapped them up) while strolling dejectedly down the mostly deserted street we chanced into Cruises Bar at the Queens Hotel. We were greeted enthusiastically by Sean who ushered us to a table near the big screen, made sure we had proper libations and desserts, then checked in regularly with tips and explanations about the timing, scoring and other nuances of the game. I can truly say that though it may have been grand to be in the stands, we felt we had a private box and a really attentive guide. Thanks Sean and Congrats to Clare!
