Great pub in the centre of Ennis - had a bite to eat here one evening. Very lively with a good mix of locals and hotel residents. The food was very tasty, great portions and very good value. However, the real bonus was the fantastic Irish trad music playing - fiddles, flute, bodhran - gave a great atmosphere to the place. Have to mention the barmen - had a great, friendly, personable manner. More pubs like it are needed!

A regular haunt of mine for a full lunch. The food here is good, plentyful and reasonably priced. My only gripes would be; that seating is a bit haphazard so sometimes one gets a great table but sometimes it is a bit squashed, and that the atmosphere is equally varied. From one to two it can be a bit hectic but outside that a very relaxing Irish bar.

We visited the Poet's Corner on March 24th, 2009. This place was recommended to us by the owner of the B&B we were staying at. The Pub itself was beautiful with lots of dark woodwork, overstuffed chairs and couches, and fireplaces. It was very dimly lit and would have been a wonderful place for a romantic dinner. However, the place was so packed full of people that it was noisy and waiting for service took a while. We both ordered the beef burgers which were really just giant meatballs on a bun. I loved it but my wife wasn't very impressed. The Guinness was nice and cold and the Sticky Toffee Pudding that we shared for desert was excellent. What we were most amazed at was the prices. They were very reasonable considering it was a hotel pub. We would give this place a try again and hope for a quieter evening.
