We only visited because it was right in front of our resort. Pretty, but nothing spectacular and the beach was very narrow

This is a lovely beach that seems to attract a lots of families and youngsters. The water is clear blue and shallow so very safe. Parking is free and access easy. We saw some small fish and a few people were snorkelling close to the shore so there must be more to see.

This is one of the best beaches in Hawaii to bring the family. The way they fully enclosed the beach with rock walls makes it calmer and safer for the little ones to play in, and much easier to keep an eye on them. It's basically two large swimming areas, each has its perks.

The smaller of the two areas only goes about 3 feet deep in the middle, and the rock barrier keeps the tides very minimal. This is the perfect play area for little ones. Our toddlers loved being able to wade in, enjoy the very gentle waves, and watch the critters. We saw small minnows swimming around our feet, and lots of little crabs in the rocks. The size of this area would take an adult probably 30 seconds to wade completely across it from one side to the other, so it's smaller size makes it very easy to keep track of the kids.

The bigger area is where you'll want to spend your time, At it's deepest probably goes about 5 feet deep, but an adult can wade through most of it. However, this is a great place to snorkel. If you swim towards the outer rocks, you'll see an abundance of sea creatures, of all colors and sizes. We saw tons of colorful reef fish, small turtles, crabs, eels, and some other big fancy fish I didn't recognize (some were as long as my arm). Just like the other pool, this area has very calm waves and is fully enclosed, making it ideal for beginning swimmers and snorkelers. I would suggest though to keep an eye on your kids here- there are places deep enough where they would be fully submerged, and the waves that hit the rock wall on this side can be a bit intimidating. Still, a very safe swimming area as long as you're watchful.

The surrounding area is nice as well- plenty of paved parking, bathrooms, showers, picnic tables, lifeguards, and a huge playground across the parking lot for the kids to play in once they're done in the ocean.

We've visited this beach on each of our Kauai trips, because it's so easy to handle and there's always aquatic life to see. I definitely recommend it to anyone up for some relaxing snorkel time!

This is a well maintained clean beach with amenities. There is a small enclosure of rocks that is safe to swim in but if you just want to walk along this beach that is great fun too

The beach was ok. The swimming is for small children. Water only goes up to an adults waist. There was some fish so good spot to take young children snorkeling for their first experience. Good spot to see once but not a beach to hang at for multiple days or return.
