Beecraigs is a lovely country park with lots of lovely walks, especially during this roasting Scottish summer, to suit all ages and fitness levels. Lots of wildlife to see. The loch is nice to visit. Good visitors centre to start you on your way.

This is my second review recently of a Scottish Country Park and again it was not ideal for inexperienced walkers (whom I suppose must be a key target for Country Parks). The park itself is beautiful and the loch is stunning - reminded us of the Canadian Lakes. Great little cafe with seating inside and lots outside - quality bacon roll! But onto the walking…we got a walking map from the shop which looked easy enough. Colour coded walks with distances etc. BUT…as we found at another park, no markers or signs to tell you where to actually start the walks. Eventually found an arrow marker for the walk we were aiming for BUT there were not enough markers on the route which meant we went off track a couple of times and had to retrace our steps back to the last marker. I have a suggestion which I really think would help inexperienced walkers (and map readers) such as ourselves. Simply number the markers. That way you would know if you’re going in the right direction and at any point you would know how far into the route you are or how far from the finish. (and a few more markers please - especially at forks in the paths).

A great overnight stay at the caravan park at Beecraigs Country Park - well situated for exploring some walks and trails across the Park. We were really impressed with the facilities, all very clean and well managed in the context of Covid. There are good places to go for coffee and for food in the park, which were very close to the caravan park. The pitches were nice and flat (hardstanding), with most of them having grass next to them, which was great. It was a great setting and with an easy to use online booking, make for an excellent stay.

Lovely place with some great walks. Animals to see, although in pens and you are not able to touch them which is a bit of a shame. There's a lovely viewpoint which is up a very steep hill, but worth it for the view at the top! Also a lovely cafe with some indoor and outdoor seating with a view over the fourth bridges. A must if you like walks and Country parks!

Beecraigs Country Park

Linlithgow

Disgusting treatment

After ordering our meal we stood to the side waiting for it. Member of staff told us to get outside. Didn't understand why when no one else was outside. Then another man came over and started shouting at us to GET OUTSIDE. Was raining and no one else was outside. We were waiting for a table and told it was first come first served but how can u get a table if ur outside in the rain. Eventually got a table and had our meal. Man standing rite beside me waiting to be served woman at the counter with her face mask hanging from her ear. All this seemed quite acceptable to the staff. When I asked to speak to the manager turned out it was the man who was shouting at us. Asked for an e mail address to put in a complaint. He went through to the kitchen where him and 2 other members had a conversation about us BEING FROM GLASGOW and profanities were then used. I am not from Glasgow nor am I the disgusting word these staff members chose to call me.I am a carer who has worked all through the lockdown and kept by the rules. Only visiting 2 shops throughout. This was my first day out and to be treated like that is appalling. Never in my life have I came across such nasty people. Would not step foot in the horrible place agai
