“Disappointing”
Reviewed October 26, 2011

I recently stayed here for three nights. The staff were great and very helpful but the bed felt like the mattress was filled with solid straw. So hard and lumpy. Also the hotel advertised free wifi throughout the hotel and yet this was not working the entire time I was there. Despite reporting it, they did not seem terribly bothered that it was not working in the bedrooms. Just kept pointing out that it was fine in the lobby.

I have recently been working in the Glasgow on business for several weeks, and was placed in the Beardmore Hotel for convenience to the Clydebank Business Park.

The hotel staff have been very cheery, helpful and prompt in their service. The room is more than satisfactory, although some of the decor is a bit dated. The room service and food in the hotel has been excellent, and certainly caters for everyone.

The swimming pool and gym facilities are great, I used them almost every night of my stay and found they had a large range of equipment for everyone.

I would recommend the Beardmore to anyone coming to Clydebank on business.

Room Tip: Some rooms get a view of the river Clyde, whilst others look onto the adjoining hospital, state a pr...

HAving been booked a room in this hotel adjacent to a hospital I wasn't expecting much to be honest but what at pleasant surprise.
This hotel is a real hidden gem. Very clean and modern with excellent size rooms. Excellent bathroom. Each room has an Apple iMac computer which doubles as a TV and is an impressive addition to a very nicely appointed room. I was sad only to be staying one night!
Room service was very good. Breakfast was a buffet and here I was just a little disappointed and is the reason I didn't give it 5 stars. The choice was a bit limited and it could have been a bit better to match the rest of the hotel. Overall excellent.Very impressed.
Just note that a taxi to the hotel takes about 20 minutes from Glasgow Central station but there is a £9 surcharge as the hotel is located just outside of the city limits for about £15-17 fare.

Booked in for two nights Room 245. 28th-29th September.
excellent Apple/TV /info system in room Air con was a bit iffy and could not get any real chill into room
The Iron didn't work but this was changed within minutes of a wee phone call.
Mini fridge did work at all and they are to be replaced very soon, sooner the better.
We had a meal for 20 people in armageddon suit on the 28th and it was First class,
a few of use were a bit reluctant to retire to the bar and the staff were great fun and made our night with their great sense of humor and the famous Glasgow Banter, great credit to them all.

If the fridge worked it would be nice, as there is a wee shop for milk and snacks drinks ect needed for those who are suporting loved ones in the Wards.
Should make this a priority.
Two extra pillows if it is a double occupance as with Towels two Sets
Breakfast both Mornings were enough to choke a horse if u had a mind to and the would make u any thing else u required .. Slight criticism Coffee and Tea could be a wee bit quicker at the start. other wise well worth the price

A spacious airy and elegant hotel with river and garden views.Very friendly helpful staff. Our king size room was excellent. We paid full price, but learned later that we could have up to 3 nights free accommodation and then only pay £68 per room per night with a 20% discount off meals. This is if you have to travel a long way for treatment. This is available through the consultants secretary. It isnt advertised anywhere.
Food was overall very good, but they tend to swamp everything with mayonnaise in this part of the world.
Great to be able to open the windows and control heating system.
Just 2 niggles..no duvet cover..just a sheet. And no signposts to hotel from hospital. Go down the 'deliveries only' road and you will find it.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the river and gardens. Very peaceful.

I have stayed at the Beardmore several times over the years. Recently it moved away from the Best Western brand and, I have to say it is the best thing it has done in many years. Every room has a Apple entertainment system and access to the Internet as standard. I had a king size room on this visit and the room was great. The staff were very attentive and were always keen to go that extra mile for you. Hope it keeps this up, as I am sure I will be back soon.

Stayed here three time now I think on business. Let's be honest, Clydebank is not exactly a tourist destination. If you are however in the area for business or for the hospital next door then it is the best place to stay. In fact it was I believe built for the and at the same time as the hospital.
It is a very spacious and well decorated hotel, in the Rennie Macintosh style. It had everything I wanted by way of comfort, WiFi, bar etc. Breakfast was also very good.
I have never seen more that 5 people in the foyer at the same time so I wonder what it's occupancy rate is?
The only negative is there is little to do at night apart from the bar and it is not a cheap taxi ride to Glasgow city.
