“Wow! What a great property, in a great location, with great views, on a great Island.”

We booked this property for the Easter week. A very reasonable price and couldn't believe the amount of thought that has gone into making this a most excellent rental property. The extras added at no extra cost included all the condiments you would ever need to bake, cook, or prepare a banquet. All new, milk, ketchup, brown sauce, mayonaise, mustards. Coffee for grinding, and filter coffee as back up. The bread bin was stocked with artiesan bread, and even a backup frozen loaf in the freezer. A full fruit basket, sweets in all rooms, kitchen roll, dishwasher tablets, bin bags and washing up liquid. To arrive to this level of attention was amazing. The property itself has a large utility room big enough to fit lots of winter/ walking gear and even a dog crate. The kitchen was furnished will all the equipment you would want or need to cook for 8. I would say that you had to be inventive with the oven if you normally use several shelves or even 2 ovens. Off the kitchen the day room had a TV with Sky+ box and a PS3 with lots of games. The kids room down stairs even had a flat screen TV and a PS2, again with lots of games. The two downstairs twin rooms and bathroom were spotless and well decorated. The main lounge upstairs hosted a large TV with Sky+ box, DVD, CD player, iPod dock. There was a large scope for viewing wildlife etc. and it has great views of Harris and North Uist (clear weather) including being able to see the sun set between the islands on a clear night. The cupboards up there were also stocked with DVDs to watch and a raft of CD's to listen to. The magazine rack was full of all the OS maps you would need to experience Skye and the surrounding Islands. This little addition in itself was excellent and we made use of all of them. These normally cost upwards of £7 so in all saved us a few pennies. There is too much to add, but all I can say is that I would highly recommend this to anyone. I can also confirm, as expected, there were no annoying midges at the beginning of April. I would also say that you need to be happy with driving, as it takes a while to get anywhere around Skye, as a couple of the attractions we visited in the South of the Island took over and hour to get to. The scenery is spectacular so the passengers will always have something to look at. What a place, we all loved Princes Point Villa, it's truly one of a kind.

“Absolutely Wonderful”

There are a number of glowing reviews of this property...and this is going to be another one! From the start, booking the holiday was a pleasure as Andy is really friendly and helpful. The property is spacious, bright and warm and has views to the Outer Hebrides and is a short (10 minute) drive to Uig.

The house is generously equipped (Sky TV - several, PS3, lots of music and DVDs). The kitchen has everything you could need (the phrase, "I wonder if they have got a ????? - of course they have" was used on many occasions!).

The weather in February can be variable so it is important to have somewhere that is a pleasure to be if it is too wild to go out. Princes Point ticks all of the boxes. It is in a great location if you want to get out and about to see the stunning scenery in this peninsula. You can also catch the ferry to the Outer Hebrides from Uig. Uig has a brewery, a petrol station, a small but perfectly formed shop and a good restaurant at the Uig Hotel (there is probably much more but this is what we sampled).

We also got to experience the Northern Lights - the position of the house means that it is ideally situated to look North to see them.

So, in summary... location, great. House, great. Facilities, great.... and then you have to add on the extra factor of how warm and friendly Andy is. We were also struck by his generosity of spirit.

Maybe I shouldn't write this review - we want to stay again and it deserves to be fully booked all the time. Thank you Andy!

“The house was perfect.”

Our vote was unanimous. Three generations of us (4 adults and two children, ages 8 and 6) thought the house was perfect and really spacious. We also had our two dogs and the utility room was just right for them. Princes Point Villa is ideally placed for exploring the northern end of Skye (Quiraing, Staffin, Fairy Glen, etc) and only about 20 miles from Portree. I also went to Neist Point, Talisker and other places further afield. The views across to the Outer Hebrides from the villa are wonderful, even though there are some small farm buildings close by. The house is extremely well stocked with pretty much everything you need apart from main food items. Those, which you can buy on the island, and your clothing are all you need to take, plus dog bedding and food if you are taking one (or more). Even though it was the end of October and the weather wasn't exactly great, we were able to have a barbecue because it has its own shelter! Nothing was too much trouble for the owner, Andy. We found one small problem on our first morning and it was fixed within a couple of hours, even though it was a Sunday. There were TVs everywhere for those who want them - we hardly turned them on. Superb holiday. We highly recommend Princes Point Villa.

Hello Simon, good to hear from you and many thanks for your kind and generous review of Princes Point Villa. We love the house and are delighted that you did too. It's a never ending process and every week we find a wee improvement or two that will help in making the Villa a perfect 'Home from Home'. I just wish we could fix the weather but Skye somehow manages to delight even when the sun isn't shining.
My thanks again and do 'haste ye back'!

I rarely write reviews but Princes Point Villa deserves all the accolades it receives. The house is immaculate, beautifully decorated and furnished and unbelievably well equipped. The lounge has fabulous views over the sea to the Outer Hebrides and if you are as lucky as us you will see some stunning sunsets. The large kitchen/dining room is a lovely social space and all the bedrooms are great sizes. The house is well placed for trips to Portree, Dunvegan Castle, the Trotternish Peninsula and the Fairy Glen, all well worth a visit. Andy was very helpful and phoned to check we had settled in and later in the week to make sure everything was ok. A fabulous holiday in a fabulous place. I can highly recommend it.
