“A perfect base to explore Lewis & Harris”

We have just returned to Somerset after a very comfortable two week stay in this delightful Cottage. The owners, Rhoda & Neil met us when we arrived, rather travelworn from our epic drive and made us feel very welcome and left fresh fruit flowers and food. The Cottage has everything you need included. It was very clean and comfortable and we would have no hesitation in recommending this Cottage. It is in an ideal situation to explore both Lewis and Harris. It is very close to the Callanish Standing Stones and has beautiful beaches close by at Dalmore and Dalbeg. Be prepared to drive to shops at Stornoway but for peace and tranquility you will not find nothing better. We have travelled to the Butt of Lewis and right down to the tip of Harris and everywhere in between on these beautiful islands and loved coming back every day to the peace and beautiful panoramic views the Cottage has to offer.

“A real home from home”
Reviewed 4 weeks ago for a stay in May 2018

Located about 30 minutes from Stornoway in a small village, the house is in an elevated position with views of sea and countryside. There is a lovely conservatory from where to enjoy the scenery. The house is very warm and comfortable with plenty of fuel if required for the fire and also. oil central heating. The hosts have thought of everything- it is the best equipped house I have ever stayed at and there is no scrimping with the basics like washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, towels- anything you might need. The crockery and cutlery are good quality and there are plenty of cooking utensils. Plan meals that you would have at home- anything you need is here- a juicer, blender, plenty of dishes. You just need to remember all your shopping as there is not much in the way of shops nearby , though Rhoda and Neil leave some lovely goodies to make you feel welcome. It is by far the warmest welcome I have ever received in any self catering accomodation. With weather in Scotland being so unpredictable it is perfect accomodation- comfortable, clean and homely.

“Totally perfect in every respect.”
Reviewed April 13, 2018 for a stay in April 2018

This fantastic property made our time on Lewis a holiday we will never forget. It is situated in a wonderful location, and the views are stunning. Every possible care has been taken with the 'home' ..there was nothing else we could have wanted. It was imaculate, warm, comfortable beyond what we could have wished for. Rhoda and Neil greeted us on our arrival, and what a welcome! Rhoda had made us a cake and oatcakes...fresh flowers too. How we wish we had booked for two weeks!
There is pleanty to interest all visitors, but the beaches and birdsong is what we will remember. So ..in short.. just book ! You won't find better. Thank you
