“Stay here ; it is fantastic!”
Reviewed June 23, 2014

There is little that I can add to the other reviews of Daleview. Catriona and Lewis are the most friendly, genuine people who could not do enough for us. It was like being at your Aunty's!
The room was fantastic, so comfortable and with a large bath too!
Breakfasts were fabulous. (eggs from their own hens)
Everything is on hand to make your stay in their home as comfortable and rewarding as possible including OS maps of the island, guide books, and superior local knowledge.
A truly excellent advertisement for Scottish hospitality.

Room Tip: The double room with views out to sea and with the lovely bathroom with king sized bath

We eventually found this superb residence tucked away on the Eye Peninsula ( also known as "Point"). We were glad we did! Situated approximately 8 miles from Stornaway, this quiet and secluded "home from home" absolutely
ticked all the boxes.Catriona and Lewis ( aptly named!) provided superb advice and information and we were sorry to leave after our 2 night stay. Our room was very comfortable indeed and sported the best bath my wife had ever experienced and she told them so! Always ready to have a friendly chat their hospitality would take some beating.A thoroughly enjoyable and recommendable experience which we would hope to repeat some day.

Room Tip: We stayed in the roof room-very spacious and we would recommend it to anyone.

Catriona and Lewis own this lovely, dog friendly B&B and I stayed with them for three nights.
The accommodation is excellent, so is the breakfast with its variety of items to chose from and the portions <smile> The rooms are large with lovely en-suite bathroom (mine with a shower), have a mini fridge, television with Freeview and free Wifi.
I traveled by car so I didn't need pick-up from the ferry, but two other guests who didn't have their own transport were picked up from the ferry upon arrival and taken to the bus station the following day to continue their journey.
So they are very accommodating and go the extra mile.

I can only recommend anyone to stay there.

What can i say!! Catriona and Lewis are 2 of the nicest people we have ever met! So welcoming and kind...we arrived soaking wet and cold (again!) and we had arrived a little earlier than planned but they welcomed us into their cottage and even dried our biking gear for us! The room was lovely with the most amazing bathroom which could challenge 5 star hotels! Selection of teas/coffees and hot chocolate, and a tin of biscuits!!
They put the wood burner fire on on the guest lounge and we relaxed there, warming up...Lewis even offered us the use of his car so we could pop into town so we didn't have to get into our biking gear again!
Apart from the wind howling most of the night (and for most of our trip!) we slept really well.
The breakfast....well, i have never been shouted at before for NOT eating enough food!!!! The spread was outstanding, the cooked breakfast was absolutely delicious and huge portion! We were stuffed! Catriona + Lewis were on hand offering more toast and coffee if we wanted any!
We were very sad to leave and will definitely be going back and will definitely will stay here again without a doubt! If you are looking for a place to stay near Stornoway, stay here!!! We cannot rate this enough! Thank you Catriona + Lewis xxxxxxxxx

We stayed 3 nights with Catriona & Lewis who were THE most welcoming hosts and were also helpful in many ways. The supply of maps and tour books was excellent. The room we had was one of two newly built rooms in their renovated cottage. Spacious room with equally spacious en suite. Everything comfortable, well appointed, just nothing wrong at all. Breakfasts were delicious and the final morning with an early ferry to catch, they got up and served a complete breakfast and were there to wave us off. The hospitality made us feel more like visiting family than B&B guests. TV, Wifi, everything needed was there. Can't say enough about how lovely it was, especially sitting by the peat fire having wonderful conversation and warmth, especially from the hosts.

Room Tip: Either of the 2 rooms is excellent!!

Equal to the best ever.Stayed a whole week.Warm and caring hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Great suggestions on where to go and where to eat. Invited us to the village annual barbecue-great fun. Breakfasts were magnificent with wide choices of cereals, fruit, porridges, pancakes, toast, scones, jams and of course the full "Scottish" including eggs from their own hens and the famous Stornaway black pudding. Superbly spacious and tastefully designed en suite bedrooms with sea views. The twin room even had a bidet. TV, tea kettle, sweets, biscuits, min-fridge in both bedrooms. Comfortable sitting room with big screen TV, DVD player etc. About 15 mins from the ferry and half that from the airport. Will definitely return.

Room Tip: Twin is a little cheaper than the double- has great shower whereas double has both bath and shower.
