“Excellent and personalized service from a very warm and accommodating skipper!”

Excellent value and first class and personalized service from a very warm and accommodating skipper! Lovely early-evening 3-hour scheduled trip (actually lasted longer!) from the loch to the sea and back. Great fun and a fantastic adventure too for myself and my two young daughters (8 and 11). Plenty of fish, nice variety (pollack, mackerel, coalfish and ling), and superb wildlife (white-tailed eagle, porpoises and very attentive great skuas, amongst other seabirds and seals). Everyone caught fish, my daughters included! The girls even got to 'steer' the boat! Many thanks to skipper Lewis. Great value for money and we enjoyed the trip immensely.

“Will be back next year!”
Reviewed September 7, 2011

Spent a great 3 hours out on Loch Erisort, where we managed to get close up with seals, porpoises and Skua's. Then we began fishing and immediately we were hauling in Mackerel, the odd Coalfish and we rounded off the morning by catching 3 good sized Pollock, which we cooked that evening for dinner and were very tasty!

Lewis is very enthusiastic and knowlegeable about what he does, which made our day all the more enjoyable.

Thanks again Lewis and we'll definitley be booking another trip when we're in Lewis next year.

“The highlight of our holiday”
Reviewed August 21, 2011

Having 3 boys - aged 10,12 and 14 all keen to go fishing, we came across Fish'n'Trips quite by accident. It was the best introduction ever, and absolutely brilliant. Lewis is very safety conscious, and he was meticulous about making sure everything was just right, from the equipment he used, to the equipment he provided. There was a fair swell out on the Minch, so we stayed within the relative calm of the sealochs, having a tour around the different lochs, visiting a colony of common seals, and getting pretty close to them, seeing salmon leaping, and then getting down to the business of fishing - interspersed at one point by porpoises also getting in on the act. We were catching mackerel from the minute we started, and it was fantastic to get a bite, haul it in, decide whether to keep it or throw it back, and then get another bite immediately. We easily caught enough for tea - all kept fresh in a fish box on ice - again provided by Lewis. For me, the best bit, apart from the scenery and the actual fishing, was the flexibility of going where we wanted and doing what we wanted - the trip really was tailor-made. Barbequeing our fish later that day for tea, we could really appreciate the freshness of it - "delicious".............and that was from two youngsters who are usually a bit reserved over what they eat.

“Outstanding, so much more than we expected.”
Reviewed August 13, 2011

Went with Lewis for a 3 hour fishing trip from Keose harbour into loch Erisort with a good friend and my two boys(4yr and 7yr old). What a trip. Very professional set up with the safety and equipment, supplied with oil skins and life jackets and nothing was too much trouble even with such young kids. The knowledge and experience just oused from our host keeping all of us interested from start to finish. Lewis put us on top of the fish as if he knew what they were thinking. Porpoises, seals and even got a Great Skua to take a Mackeral from his hand above his head. We learnt a lot about where we were, from the fish farms to the wildlife and the land around us. A great experience for all envolved.

“Don't miss the best trip on Lewis!”
Reviewed August 9, 2011

Without doubt this was the highlight of our trip to Lewis!
We booked an afternoon session for ourselves, our two children and their nana-so quite a mixed bunch. We wanted to see some wildlife and try our hands at sea fishing.
When we arrived all the waterproofs and fishing gear were supplied. The boat was very comfortable and easily accessible. Lewis was an excellent skipper with outstanding local knowledge and great with the kids.
The sea was calm, the weather warm and sunny and the views stunning. We saw seals, porpoise, a white tailed sea eagle, kittiwakes and their chicks, and a very cheeky great skua which followed us most of the way and flew so close we could almost touch him. This was probably due to all the mackerel the kids were catching! We also landed several hefty pollock some of which we had for supper that evening-delicious!
The time flew and before we knew it we had returned to shore after checking a lobster pot on the way. The children have not stopped talking about their adventure!
This trip is excellent value and we would highly recommend it to anyone.
Thankyou Lewis for a perfect afternoon and memories to treasure forever.
