It was lovely to be picked up from the pier by Margaret, shown our toasty warm comfortable room back at Bishop's Walk and then to be taken to the kitchen where we were welcome to make ourselves hot drinks at any time of the day. This is a lovely touch. Our breakfast was generous and delicious (tattie scones were a big hit with my Swedish friend!) and it was so wonderful to hear stories from a native Iona islander. Thank you for sharing Margaret and enabling us to do so also.

We stayed with Margaret whilst visiting Iona for a wedding. Margaret met us at the ferry and gave us a quick drive around Iona before taking us to her lovely welcoming home. She really is the most wonderful host ... nothing is too much trouble and you feel immediately at home. She also has 3 beautiful sheep dogs that kept the kids amused. Accommodation was clean and neat and you could use the kitchen like your own. Thoroughly recommend! Thanks again for looking after us all Margaret. x The Sinclair Family

Great B&B on the island. Taste of island life - hearty breakfast and Margaret was extremely hospitable. Nothing was too much bother - even washed my trousers after I slipped and fell into a marsh! A home from home!

Margaret is a warm hearted, kind, caring and wonderful host. She offers you all the information you might like to know, she knows everything about the island in detail, history, activities, special places, hikes, where to find special stones. She helped us to organise a boat trip. She regularly checks wheter you need some help or information.
The B &B is combined with a sheep farm. You get an inside experience of how farmers families on the islands live and have lived in the past. If you feel at home with that kind of lifestyle this B&B is the perfect place to be. The rooms are rather small, but the beds are warm and comfortable. It is perfectly quiet and silent at night. You share the bathroom with one other room. There is free wifi but the internet connection can be quite unstable due to the weather conditions. Margret does try to do everything technically possible to let it work as it should. It is a perfect place to simplify your life, find peace, rest, and find new energy and inspiration. You are very well bing cared of.

We had a wonderful stay with wonderful host Margaret. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast delicious and the hospitality welcoming. You also get a glimpse of the life of a sheep farmer, hard working but with a wry Scottish twinkle. Meeting Margaret was my husband's favorite part of our Scotland trip. Just be sure you understand the ferry schedule for her to pick you up !
