Remote area - definitely need transport, buses are a little infrequent, a lovely walk into Aberfloye but what a brilliant hotel, food, staff fantastic. The rooms were really clean and very comfortable,

I would without a doubt recommend people to go there but they do need transport.

Spent a "Turkey and tinsel" week between 11th and 15th November 2013. Rooms clean and tidy - food OK and staff friendly. However not very Christmassy at all. We were put in a secondary dinning area which resembled a canteen. No table clothes and wooden chairs whereas the other two coach parties were in a well decorated room with all the trimmings. On Christmas day Santa brought us each a present - 7 chocolates in a small cardboard Roses box!! Whoopy do!! Entertainment was poor catering for the other two parties who were all ballroom dancers. Entertainment finished at 10:45 every night even on the Wednesday when it was supposed to be "New Years Eve"!!! The bar closed at 11:30ish each night again even on "New Years Eve". Poor quality for what was supposed to be an Xmas and New Year week. Hotel is remote and after the three trips out we were back mid afternoon with NOTHING to do only organise our own Bingo sessions!!

Room Tip: Ask for one of the new ones!!!

We've just returned from a week at this hotel and I would rate this as 9 out of 10. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly. The food is fantastic and service first class. The only negative is it is rather remote, no problem if you have your own transport but as we were on a coach trip and the local bus service is expensive and infrequent you are trapped. As a result the bar prices are rather high for a captive audience. In saying that we would certainly return again as it would be convenient if you intend on touring.

Just spent 4 nights here. On arrival you will see it only has 2 stars & it,s not the prettiest of buildings but please don,t let this put you off. We were given a room too far away for my husband but a word to reception by our tour organizer & we were moved to room 44 which is near the main dining hall etc. & it,s been adapted for the disabled. The room was spotless, & believe me, I,m someone who checks behind loos & things for dust & dirt, there was no dirt to be found, unlike a 3 star Shearings we once stayed in where I found the bathroom still had the previous occupants hairs etc. covering the loo & floor !!!! All the staff are pleasant & more than willing to help with anything. Breakfast is buffet style & plenty of it, evening meal is 3 course with 3 choices for each course so you needn,t go hungry. Our room also had tea/coffee making facilities with a packet of biscuits on the tray, & a hair drier. All in all it was very good value & it,s a handy place to stay to see the surrounding areas.

Room Tip: Room 44 is a good one for the disabled, or anyone with walking difficulties as it,s near reception...

Stayed from the 28th oct tothe 1st nov 2013 and can honestly say had a fabulous time, went on a coach trip and the welcome we received was fantastic. The staff are very friendly, the rooms were lovely and warm and clean. The food was so scrummy and would definitely recommend it. The only thing that i did not like was the entertainment, but hey ho we made our own and had lots of laughs.
