Have stayed here before and experience their excellent value overnight stay with Dinner Dance. Recently popped in for a drink and it would seem that the same high standards have been maintained. A fun hotel and great value.

I have passed this hotel many times but never stayed as I didn't think it was for me, as I couldn't get my usual hotel in Aberfoyle I decided to take a chance and I was really surprised how good this hotel was, the reception staff were really friendly and our room was to a very good standard, i'm sure there was some upgrading/decoration taking place in some buildings so the owners are bring their hotel up to a good standard, above the door it states 2 stars but this was better for me, great location, good food, great room and friendly staff what more can you ask for, only one small gripe if hotels are going to use foreign staff to deal with the public please make sure they can speak and understand the english language fully, other than that it was a good stay.

Looked good from the outside and it seems to cater for coach tour upon coach tour so must be OK. When I was there there were about 150 OAP's in the dining room in row upon row. Had to have bar food as the non resident dining room apparently was full (albeit we went at the start of serving). I have to say the bar food was absolutely awful. Most of the party had fish and chips which was averagely served and cooked. I had goats cheese and spinach in filo pastry which was totally tasteless, greasy and served with chips. Absolutely awful. Even smothered in all the condiments couldn't raise any sort of taste at all. Needless to say won't be back

Booked this hotel for a 3day break with my husband. Don't be put off by the outside of the hotel. once your are inside it is very nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The meals are really very good. There is a large bar sitting area and the staff are really friendly. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Aberfoyle. There is a path behind the hotel, by the river, which takes you into the town in about 15mins. A nice walk. Would we go back again. Yes Definitely.

This hotel provided a nights stopover when I was walking in Scotland. I didn't eat or drink here as I couldn't get the wi fi to work so went elsewhere. Situated just outside the town of Aberfoyle, there is a convenient footpath at the rear which gets you into town in around 15 minutes. When booking on the Internet I asked for a room with a stand alone shower in a quiet location. Both these requests were met for which I was very grateful.

We ended our visit to the area with a High Tea before returning home.
The service was great and the food was lovely and great value for money.
I had a nice cold half pint of best in the bar.
As the weather was lovely lots of people were enjoying a drink outside.
